The Senators questioning him reveal the most incredible level of ignorance. Thee extent of these politicians knowledge is what I expect from a home-schooled Appalachian 6 year old, not an elected representative to the Senate. No wonder the country is such a disaster.

@NotImpressed Yes, a fairly small list, as it is incredibly difficult to build up the required support to enter the race. The and have happily colluded to try to keep any other contestants out of the race. But my best wishes to ALL those candidates, even those who espouse policies I may not support.

So, the Eurovision song contest kicked off today with opening ceremonies. This year's contest is particularly controversial due to the inclusion of Israel (notably not a European nation) and their attempts to submit a song which appeared to reference the October Hamas attacks. Political songs are not allowed in Eurovision.

I've been mostly watching news on the contest through following Icelandic papers as part of my fascination with the ongoing eruption there.

I have received a number of posts telling me how bad were on Oct 7th. Even if every single accusation was correct (I suspect many are not), the posters assume these crimes give permission to commit in - to murder of tens of thousands of women and children, even when we know over half of Gaza never voted for Hamas. Using this logic, the US Govt can murder all Italian-Americans on the basis that some of them support the Mafia.

Western media relies exclusively on Israeli Govt press releases or tame “journalists” embedded in Israeli forces.
