On my recent drive just outside of the town I was met with two beautiful things a great sunset and a great horned owl 🦉. It was getting too dark so I could only capture a silhouette. But the scene was much like from an old time scary movie, a spooky tree, owl and coyotes howling at a distance.

One of the things that I love living in the midwest is the change of scenery throughout the year. This comes from the very noticeable changes in seasons, each one bringing its own feel and charisma. While many want to move away from long cold weather and shorter days, I feel it does teach you some resilience, makes you slow down and take things easier during these months. And of course perks of living in a small town, drive 10 miles outside of town and you get views like this!

Some soft golden light and amazing color palette. Shot this early in the morning when the light during autumn is just magical. The flora that was once lush green in summer starts to exhibit this golden hue which is beautiful and sad at the same time, in few days it will all go dormant for winter.
