About a year ago during our time in #Ireland there was a short period of winter. Imagine the beautiful coastal landscape covered in ice and even snow in places - a winter wonderland all of its own.
Looking out across Eagle Valley towards the (lightly dusted) Sierra Nevada. The Carson River is below, lined by cottonwood trees, and the edges of Carson City are visible on the ridge in the center and against the hillside to the right.

The wind was brisk at the brink of the Upper Falls at Tahquamenon Falls State Park in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. We visited a few days before Christmas several years ago and found that the falls hadn't frozen over. The Upper Falls are approximately 200 feet across and a 50 foot drop to the Tahquamenon River.
