So…there is a concerted campaign, with Musk as its mouthpiece, to discredit Signal and get people to switch to Telegram. It’s disinformation, but there’s also useful information in it. The useful information is that a hideous, powerful, right-wing crank — or whoever’s yanking his chain — really, really wants people to use Telegram.

We’ve long known Telegram’s security is weak. But now, in light of this new information, we should move forward assuming that Telegram is actively compromised.

@riffreporter @elena_matera Spannende Sache, das mal näher zu untersuchen. Was mich dabei erschreckt: Selbst wenn es uns tatsächlich gelänge, vollkommen zu leben, würde der auf der Erde noch über zig Generationen zu zerfallen. In den Ozeanen noch viel schlimmer.
Mikroplastik entsteht ja auch aus Grossplastikteilen.

Anlässlich der bevorstehenden , haben wir mit den älteren Kids gemacht und sind wenig überraschend zu ähnlichen Ergebnissen gekommen, was wohl an der höheren Gewichtung von Thesen zum Klimaschutz liegt.

Warum sollte der Ausstieg aus fossilen Brennstoffen überhaupt eine parteispezifische These sein? Oder gar ein Streitthema zwischen Parteien? Das ist doch für alle lebenswichtig, unabhängig von unseren politischen Vorlieben. Nur der genaue Weg dorthin wäre parteiabhängig.

@TatianaIlyina Ich wünsch mir auch, manche Themen wären parteiübergreifend klar. Mir geht's leicht umgekehrt, wenn ich in Frankreich wähle: Unsere Grünen haben, außer mit regionalen Ausnahmen, nicht wirklich eine Sozialpolitik aufgestellt. Und ohne die geht Klimaaktion nicht.
Wählen ist halt leider oft die Auswahl des Nichtperfekten, um dann fürs Ideal zu kämpfen. Und gegen Rechts. Die brächten nämlich den Planeten auf mehreren Ebenen ans Ende.

@TatianaIlyina Die euren können schon eine ganze Menge mehr, nicht umsonst haben sie es bis in die Regierung geschafft. Sie könnten noch mehr, wenn sie nicht so beschäftigt wären, den Dreck der letzten Regierung aufräumen und sich ständig gegen das Gift aus der FDP wehren zu müssen. Das verpufft so viel wertvolle Energie.

@tagesschau Ich hab das bis zum Schluss gelesen. Weil ich vergeblich darauf wartete, dass es wenigstens in einem Satz in die eingeordnet wird. Das ist nicht einfach nur "Wetter". Andere Medien zeigen die Steigerung der durch die Klimakrise und dass uns fehlendes Umdenken auch wirtschaftlich viel kosten wird. Kontext!!!
"Früher als üblich" im letzten Absatz konstruiert eine täuschende "Normalität".

Warum könnt ihr das nicht, fragt eine Journalistin.

One of the things I have been thinking about is how much discourse is stunted by the idea that “I know better than you.” We see it on Mastodon and other social media sites, but we also see it in life, especially if we are a member of an under-represented, marginalized, or minority group.

This one-upmanship crowds out sharing and can make people afraid to voice their opinion or experience due to risk of policing, shaming, condescension, or any of the other ways that people try to demonstrate power over others.

I think it’s worth remembering that we’re all doing life in our own way. We all have something of value to share, and we’re all experts in our own situation.

I'm curious what others' thoughts are about this.

@Furthering I think that's important. Unfortunately, in social media, because of the brevity of the media, it usually falls by the wayside to look at the context of people and opinions. It would be helpful to ask questions rather than just churning out statements against statements.

We just had this discussion IRL about whether a group would take a narcissistic person on a group tour. The distinction sounded interesting: do I participate in a group because I want to share and contribute? Or do

@Furthering or do I join and first ask what it brings to me personally, how I can use what is shared for my own good. There will never be a clear separation, but this is a good starting point.

But there is a lot of other misbehaviour. As a (female) museum guide I'm confronted with mansplaining (which can crash a visitor's group). We are trained in how to deal with them. Such training would also help elsewhere. You can also train to stand by the people who are suffering from the power game.

Treated myself to a new rucksack back in February, for conferences and other times when I need a smarter looking bag.

I've used it maybe once a fortnight since, and haven't overloaded it. I'm not best pleased to find that the strap has started to come away already.

I'm not going to ask for a replacement, it's too much hassle and creates waste. So it's time to repair the rucksack!

Did you know that road design included features?

In the ruins of , you'll notice small white stones interspersed with the large paving ones along the extensive roads.

Those white are 'cats eyes', i.e. gems that have a single line of inclusion of crystals of another mineral inside.

Upon light reflective on them (from the ), they enable the walker to see that they are still on the right path!

When I lived in Germany, I used the very strong French Dijon mustard (because the Weißwurst was too sweet for me). They didn't deport me but meanwhile, as a German, I live in the country of the best mustard. Dijon mustard in every supermarket. 😁

Very bad photo: I can't and especially don't want to approach. Never disturb animals with babies!
The black redstarts (Phoenicurus ochruros) above my door have youngsters (I counted 3). They come every year and I have to leave very carefully. The chicks react to my movements and open their beaks. Then my primal reflex: I would like to catch a fat insect to feed them. But no, little chirpies, I'm not your mum! I continue very calmly to clear mum's flight path.

@wahadeem Eigenartig, dass weder dem Autor noch hier einigen die Idee kommt, dass PoC und alle anderen genannten Menschen Teil dieser Akademikerinnen sein könnten. Diese Arroganz stieß mir in dem Artikel auf. Das leugnet all die berühmten Vordenkerinnen der betroffenen Gruppen, die weiße Gestrige überhaupt erst zum Umdenken brachten! @kolya @tazgetroete
