Forgiving yourself can be much harder than forgiving other people. I'm not there yet. I have a tendency to share more personal information than I should or that anyone wants to hear. My first grade teacher's message on my first report card said, "Patty talks too much". Some things never change. I have strong opinions and usually don't mind sharing them. When you hear calls from about why Biden should debate Trump, just remember they just want more people watching shows they produce. They'd have them on a rope bridge with scimitars if they could.

@Gustodon Nothing positive would result from a Biden - Trump debate. Debate requires two or more people with sufficient intelligence and knowledge of world and domestic issues. Any debate that includes Trump would be a clown show. We've seen that show before. If Biden is smart, he won't agree.

@Osteopenia_Powers @Gustodon I still remember his debate with Clinton. She remained calm, composed and focused, and he still managed to get a large number of people to pick her apart. Besides the hate that manifests around him, he manages to draw out the male adolescents to laugh at what should be horrible.
Personally, I can't stand to see his face & hearing his voice makes me cringe. I'm hoping that the trial that starts tomorrow will be a turning point. I've read that some think it will be.

@mondoweiss @palestine @israel I'm the first to admit I have a limited knowledge about all things Middle East, but I've seen my share of provocation, and it's my firm opinion that Israel, through it's leader, Netanyahu, is attempting to start a full blown war in the Middle East in an effort to do two things 1) protect Netanyahu from being prosecuted for corruption 2) steal land that he & many Israelis believe belong to them because.... Time will tell and many people will die.

@purplepadma If you have the ingredients, bake a cake or make cookies. It doesn't matter if you plan to eat it or not. It's a distraction. While it's in the oven, take a shower & wash your hair. I always feel better after I wash my hair.

Do a load of laundry. Change the linens on your bed whether they need changing or not. It will feel good to climb in w/fresh clean sheets.

If you can reach your toes (I can't 😂 ) put nail polish on. It's harmless & reversible.

I’m learning about brain zaps - they feel like electric shocks in your brain. They are a lovely side effect [yes, that is sarcasm] of stopping venlafaxine (effexor) before trying a different antidepressant for preventing chronic migraine.

I also feel like I just got hit by a truck and every inch of my body hurts.

tbh - I am now afraid of trying the new antidepressant (nortriptyline).

Suggestions via your personal experience welcome (no mansplaining)

@CuriousMagpie @actuallyautistic I was prescribed venlafaxine for bipolar disorder. I was taking trazodone at the same time. Bipolar disorder can cause folks to do all sorts of irrational things. Venlafaxine caused me to feel "numb". I wasn't depressed anymore. I didn't feel anything, which was worse. So in the midst of a manic episode, I made the choice to stop all my meds at the same time. I wouldn't recommended it. That said, please don't be afraid to try a new med that may be the answer. 🍀

@CuriousMagpie @actuallyautistic When I stopped all my meds cold turkey, it was less a choice and more a sign of an acceleration of my illness at the time. I had never done it before, and haven't done it since. My medications were being prescribed by the "doctor of the day" from the state run mental health clinics where I had moved from and the state where I had moved to. There was no continuity of care & no outreach from one provider to the next. It was a bad situation. I don't advise trying it

@CuriousMagpie @actuallyautistic Not long after that episode I connected with the doctor I have now. That was 8 years ago. After a couple of med trials, we settled on my current treatment, and I have remained stable. Trial and error can be scary and frustrating, but with the right medical support it can work out. Persevere.

@CuriousMagpie @actuallyautistic Unfortunately, some docs think antidepressants are the answer for everything. I discovered they were actually exacerbating my symptoms & CAUSING me to flip from depression to mania. Once I stopped taking them & focused on treating mania, my life changed. However, many, if not most, drugs have undesirable SE so I had to accept the trade off. Find a doc who's experienced w/meds, who you can trust & be 100% honest. Tho they try, there's no cookie cutter trtmt. 🙂

@CuriousMagpie @actuallyautistic I want to say, I am NOT suggesting anyone stop using their antidepressant med or any other prescribed medication(s) w/o consulting their physician(s). These are powerful drugs, and shouldn't be used or discontinued without supervision. When I stopped my medication, I was in a crisis.

My experience is just that - my experience & everyone is different.

It took me a long time to find a doctor who would listen to me & respond accordingly. Be your best advocate.

@CuriousMagpie @actuallyautistic I didn't think so, but after I read my posts, I thought I should say something. I'm not a doctor. I'm just a patient. I try to help others by sharing my own experience. I didn't have anyone who could help me navigate a system that's really difficult for most of us. I'm glad I said something useful. I've found that doctors are usually in a hurry to get us out of their office rather than listen to us. Sometimes our best information comes from each other. 🙂

I didn't watch . The criminal defendant owes more than $100 million dollar loan to at least one bank, just on this one LOAN, this loan is just to pay his loan interest payments. That property, as of 2021, the building's official owner is GMAC Commercial Mortgage.

He is all debt, and can not even pay his debts.

Deutsche Bank and other lenders forgave about $287 million in debt** that he did not pay.

  • The majority of this unpaid debt was related to a 92-floor skyscraper in Chicago, completed in 2008, which Trump had hoped to turn into one of his real estate marquee dwellings.
  • Despite initially attempting to back out of paying what he owed, Trump eventually saw the loans forgiven over $250 MILLION, rather than continuing to fight in court.

However, Trump’s supporters rallied to boost shares in the shell company, Digital World Acquisition Corp. Its a money laundering scheme.

@skykiss The new order out from Engoron yesterday specified all efforts to obtain & accept a surety from any source must pass thru the desk & get the approval of the monitor. Trump already moved $50 mil w/o permission on Jone's watch. I have some concern that she, alone, is not up to the task or reigning Trump et al into compliance with the Order. I really wish there was a "committee" of 3-5 people made up of attorneys, former judges & financial experts for control & less chance for corruption

Do not be mistaken -

If the GOP Congress gets what they want in the budget, it doesn't mean they will stop collecting Medicare and Social Security taxes from your salary. It just means the taxes you pay will go directly to support the top 1%, not into a fund for your eventual retirement, or to help support you in the event of a disability that prevents you from earning a salary.

@iuculano There are so many inconsistencies in the history of Cannon, it's unbelievable there hasn't been a journalist up to the task of investigating her and, consequently, her husband. Some hints in this Daily Mail Article from 2023. The Daily Mail isn't the most reliable source, but what they published is interesting. Cannon said her mom fled to Colombia. Article says Puerto Rico. Lots of political hate for democrats. Lots of money questions. Why is she "Hands Off"?

Tucked deep into Project 2025 is a call to “make Medicare Advantage the default enrollment option.”

This would be a historic handout to the insurance industry.

@rbreich Not only does it make it the default, the cost to insured would be based on "what the market will bear". They clearly say that those who can afford to pay will receive coverage and those who can't, won't.

There are not enough people reading the GOP Mandate. Media pundits could be of tremendous help by reading it on air.

I recall during trial that I said people were focused too much on how much property claims to own v how much debt he has. Even w/limited reporting, it was easy to figure out he was "borrowing from Peter to pay Paul". And w/favorable interest rates, he was still over leveraged. The trial docs never revealed his . Many observers assumed, wrongly, that if he could borrow amounts he did, he must be "rich". He played a shell game w/lenders & it caught up with him
