I am going down the rabbit hole with research for my new story. What I was originally planning to have as cosmic horror is becoming more and more eco-horror based on the history of New Brunswick. There’s so much going on here: expropriation for Base Gagetown and Mactaquac, huge amounts of DDT sprayed everywhere, rampant deforestation, and heavy testing of Agent Orange (and all the other rainbow herbicides). Who needs Cthulhu when there’s corporate/military/industrial poisoning on a grand scale? And that’s not even getting into the fracking.

My father was poisoned with Agent Orange. He was a soldier at Base Gagetown during this time period and has had skin conditions ever since. Sight, while being something something many people are born with, is not an innate ability, but something we learn to do. People who were born blind or were blind for a long time, who get sight, have to learn to see.

Have y'all ever had someone act like you were hurting them somehow by just liking a food?

Any time I buy or make kimchi, my Mom says it's so gross and she doesn't want any and just on and on. I never offer it to her, or make group food with it, but for some reason she seems offended by it, and I don't know why.

@RickiTarr I grew up with a collie who had powerful herding instincts. It drove him to distraction that my sister and I liked to play away from one another at opposite ends of the yard.

He always loved it when I told him to go get the chickens. He’d round them up and bring them to me. He got pretty mad at me the first time I took him to the beach. There was a flock of seagulls out on a sandbar. I told him to go get the chickens and he ran down to round them up for me. He was unimpressed when they all flew away. He never fell for that trick again.
