@phosh for squeekboard has anyone looked at making a split keyboard for testing? I have a tablet with postmarketOS and would love to test it.

I got a new monitor arm but it also has a plate for a laptop. Now I could use it for a second display but I actually like having the laptop there too.

I just picked up the JBL Live 670NC for $100 and I'm enjoying them! Nice to have headphones with USB-C finally and OMG is Google's new Quick Connect tech nice!

TIL about ntfsfix from the ntfs-3g package in Ubuntu

ahoneybun,
@ahoneybun@hachyderm.io avatar

@vwbusguy ah I think that is what the Arch Forum was talking about when it comes to the dirty bit so it has mounting issues.

ahoneybun,
@ahoneybun@hachyderm.io avatar

@vwbusguy is that for the Fast Startup option in Power settings or in general? It's been a while since I used Windows for things other than firmware updates lol.

Hey large companies buying successful fintech startups, I chose this bank because the apps from the big banks suck and I refuse to go back to anything that doesn’t have comprehensive envelope-style banking. Junking up the app with gimmicks and limiting the number of envelopes makes me want to switch banks again

ahoneybun,
@ahoneybun@hachyderm.io avatar

@danirabbit is this about ONE? I know someone using Monzo since it has Joint Accounts but I like the envelope-style with routing numbers and debit numbers.

TIL that there are vehicles with weapons in Cyberpunk 2077. Holy shit.

Ubuntu is still great even with snaps. At the end of the day folks shouldn't care where they come from just that they work. If we want Linux to get more mainstream we need to accept that.

So a Quest 2 (with Moonlight) and a Steam Deck (with Sunshine) is amazing for gaming.

@danirabbit with the GitHub sponsorship do we get ARM64 builds for the next release still or was that removed?

My review of Ubuntu on the Lenovo Thinkpad X13s (an ARM64 laptop). I think I was fair with my review of it and let me know your thoughts!

@postmarketOS is pretty damn cool. I was able to put it on my old Ideapad Duet 3 (OG model) to replace ChromeOS.

Uh oh. The very handy tool nvd for rebuilds (shows specifically what versions of what software might differ between two system closures, such as "what you're currently on" and "what you would build next”) is both screaming for some extra configurability, and is written in Python.

(AND it uses subprocess instead of the clearly superior Invoke. 😜)

@bitprophet what about this?:

https://github.com/remi-dupre/pinix

It's written in Rust!

ahoneybun,
@ahoneybun@hachyderm.io avatar

@bitprophet I do feel like a frontend like this is better then what NixOS currently has at least in my experience. nvd is a nice stop gap though.

I designed a print on my lunch break, then printed it during my afternoon of work… then I tested it this evening and it’s wrong. 😭

This is a copy of a random magnetic caddy my wife had from college, with holes for some neodymium magnets inset into the back. It turns out I should have made the holes bigger (and should have test printed to make sure the fit would be good…).

Now I have to decide if it’s worth trying to salvage, or if I tweak the clearance and print again. 😬

Time for some new devices!
OnePlus 8, Pixel 6, and Pixel Tablet now can run Droidian at a near feature complete state!
Including Pixel 6 and Lenovo Thinkphone, Droidian is now only a single generation behind the latest chips.
All of these devices will soon be added to our installer, but nightly images are currently available.
