I think Biden really screwed himself with this aid bill for Ukraine, Israel, and banning Tiktok at the same time.

Regardless your opinions of Tiktok, that's overwhelmingly Gen Z and Millenial users, the voters Biden needs.

Trump has magically pivoted himself as someone who will save Tiktok, despite trying to ban it earlier.

You have millions of business operators (myself included) who may be suing the US government for harming our businesses as well.

I’m getting really tired of misinformation from keyboard warriors in this conflict by biased people. The Rafah Crossing between Egypt and Gaza is controlled by Egypt, not Israel.
This crossing has also been under tight control since 2013 when they had their own extremist insurgency they had to deal with.
Everyone also is talking about Israel but no one talks about how Jordan, Egypt, and others don’t really care to help Palestinians either. Palestinians are getting fucked six ways to Sunday

Articles like this showcase why it's so hard to take many tech journalists seriously. The guy couldn't even figure out the simple task of joining a mastodon server at say Mastodon.social and then migrating later or such. So instead he wrote an article about how he couldn't join. I'm sad, I would really love to go back to hosting my own #Email server again but it's not feasible anymore after running my own for almost a decade thanks to @MailInABox by @josh as it's like a full time job managing deliverability and such. Plus with email security these days you pretty much need an email security gateway and most proper security products only work with Google or Microsoft. Plus to get guaranteed delivery I needed to setup and pay for dedicated relays. #InfoSec #Linux

I finally moved Threads and Bluesky off of my personal iPhone and onto the Samsung S23 I use for all my content creation. I barely use it and I don't like how much data it sucks up. Effectively meaning on my personal phone in terms of social media I only have Mastodon ( @IceCubesApp ), Discord, Matrix ( @element ), Pixelfed, Whatsapp, and signal.

When I get my next iPhone I plan to set it up as a new phone, transfer the photos, and only install apps I actually still use. #Privacy

I’m waiting extremely patiently for this device to replace my classic iPod I’ve repaired and modified to have a 3,000 mAh battery and also use an SD card. This is EXACTLY what I’ve been wanting in a music player. Simple, high quality audio, repairable, and no connectivity more than I need to just play music, no internet necessary.

I recently got an iPod specifically to listen to music with no distractions, no internet, no notifications just headphones in and press play. Apparently this is rocket science for quite a few to understand that I want to be offline and disconnected completely with my device. I only want to have my phone for calls, if it vibrates I grab it. #music #audiophile #ipod #apple

Just fixed my @Efani dashboard issues, support was great. So now that I have access to my dashboard some notes for #Efani

TOTP Code generation shouldn't just be QR, you should also allow the string of text to be manually input. I had to use zbarimg to convert the QR code to text to input into my @yubico security key and vault for TOTP generation.
You should also add FIDO/WebAuthn support. TOTP has a single seed, so if stolen they have access. #infosec #Cybersecurity #SIMSwap #cellphone

I hope to form a few relationships with computer companies for hardware reviews but as we know I also like to look at a lot of security products

I may be looking at managing my own #Mastodon infrastructure next year. I am looking at AWS as I would like to see about making it an ECS if at all possible to scale and shrink based on demand. I’m curious about any documentation and guides towards that end as well as migration between servers.

#Start9 sent me their Server Pure for a review. They appear to be based on the @purism Librem Mini computers. Intel ME is disabled out of the box. I will have to tinker with this on #twitch tomorrow live but their StartOS seems to be great for those starting to do a #homelab and they are all about data sovereignty and you owning your data. It has options to setup #Mastodon and #Matrix out the box as well as #bitcoin and #monero nodes with #tor as well.

Gamers can be quite annoying when discussing #cybersecurity and #infosec issues. They often jump to DDoS or such when something is down rather than it could be a simple service outage. They often refer to everything as “hacked.” I literally saw a guy say there was a massive DDoS because he looked at down detector and saw multiple services having issues. So many things can cause issues like a simple service outage or latency issues irrelevant to a cybersecurity incident. #gaming
