@deflockcom if you're looking for a home server solution, CoreOS may be a better fit since it still uses rpm-ostree but may not be so focused on the IoT use case in it's configuration.
@darren Thanks i will consider it, i just don’t understand the rationale for a full suspension of these instance instead of hiding them but letting them accessible for those who really want them.
@deflockcom I understand what you're saying. It helps me to think of fediverse servers as distinct communities each with its own personality. They dont all federate universally (few do). And some servers are really bad, though most are run well. Certain communities here are often threatened, so their priority is safety. Since I hardly ever look at the federated feed, I sought out a server with fewer restrictions that lets me follow who I want.
@ivory Yes the navigation bar at the botom on ios app, i would love to lock it (or at least have an option to remove the arrow that let us understand we can maintain the pressure to change them (i found that not very beautiful (and once we know it’s possible and why some may not be possible) having them become optional.
@deflockcom We will be redoing the whole navigation soon. But for now you can actually go into the behavior settings and make it so all the tab buttons are customizable.
i do firmly think that the fact we can see @potus directly from mastodon is a big day for #democracy since it finally break the blockage social media have done by blocking famous people into their platforms please @potus make a law to prevent #meta to block people like you to be seen by free (as free speech) social networks
