TIL that cats have filthy mouths. 😾

And by “filthy mouths” I mean that if one of them bites you (especially one of the outdoor semi-feral variety) you’re probably gonna need a tetanus shot and end up on a regimen of serious antibiotics so the bite area doesn’t swell up like a water balloon.

Also, don’t put off going to the doctor unless you want to see the water balloon effect first. :blobaww:

Media’s breathless, hysterical, round-the-clock, clickbait coverage of the protests is yet another example of how the fourth estate has abandoned any and all responsibility to inform and educate in exchange for advertiser-luring clicks.

I am still waiting for the major part of the media to own up to their role in helping to elect Trump in 2016. Their coverage of everything else has been failing us all and this is no different. A large portion of people have also apparently learned nothing.

@TonyStark As someone who is going to vote for Biden and also agrees that the media was complicit in helping to elect Trump, I'm not going to blame the media for covering the suppression of free speech on college campuses using fascist tactics even if it makes the Biden administration look bad. This isn't Hillary emails. These are fundamental rights being violated for political expediency. If the coverage hurts Biden or the Democrats it certainly isn't the media's fault.

It is highly unlikely that anything which happens between now & November will prevent the former President of the United States from running again.

If you want to get worked up about things like the Supreme Court, or whether gag orders are being violated, or whether he spends time in jail, that's fine, but please don't let that distract you from what you could actually be doing between now & November to make sure that he never sets foot in the White House again.

November is all that matters.

I understand that non-competes can be used to impose undue hardship on certain categories of workers but have you considered how banning all of them undermines parties' freedom of contract?

Pro tip - if you see someone on Mastodon announcing that they are going to be joining a livestream you can support them even if you don't actually have time to watch by opening the window in another browser and letting it play muted in the background. At least I think this helps them by showing more viewers or whatever. I don't really know... 🤓

OK - If you were one of the 96 prospective jurors, would you be able to be fair and impartial?

I think that I could be, but I would disclose that I am on social media bashing Trump nearly every single day. I would not want that to come out later and risk being fodder for an appeal.

EDIT: Under the judge's definition of a fair juror, I'd have to be dismissed. A fair juror is one with no bias or prejudice.

Oh, well count me as out of here.

@Hey_Beth I hope some of the prospective jurors were wise enough to delete any social media posts which reference the Orange Man, although if I was a defense attorney as soon as the trial concluded I would attempt to subpoena all of the social media posts from all of the jurors including any that may have been deleted in order to show bias and/or that the jurors lied during voir dire 😈

@eb I suspect this will turn out to be a much bigger deal than people currently realize, but even if it doesn't I commend you for taking these steps. And you're absolutely right about the power issue - the fact that individuals can force billion (at least on paper 😂) dollar companies to comply with the terms of open-source licenses is huge.
