Just finished what I thought was a 200 ISO color film. Well, turns out it was a roll of 400 ISO black and white film.
I'm still (or even more so now) excited for the results :D

@vanitasvitae one nice property of film is that it doesn't clip at 0xFF ;)

(If you can, you might consider developing the film in such a way as to compensate for this slight overexposure?)

@larsmb I believe there has long been a weird duality of "conspiracy theories". On the one hand, the obvious: unhinged people saying unreasonable things. On the other, "conservative" societal forces denouncing their antagonists.

@mivox The "behind the head" bands of the Auras make me happy both in terms of comfort and the resulting fit.

With ear-attached masks, I always felt that talking made the mask wobble in purpose-defeating ways.

I am baffled why serde_derive is shipping an unreproducible precompiled proc macro library to save less than ten seconds of compilation time. But I am even more baffled by the maintainer response to concerns about this, which is ignoring all those concerns and somehow demanding cargo be changed to directly support distributing binaries, as though that somehow alleviates these concerns instead of strengthening them.

So I wonder how much of the 'splainy character of this site can be traced to the lack of a QT function.

I swear everytime I post something, I get people "helpfully" replying by explaining the point to me. Maybe that urge could be channeled into talking to their own audiences if there were only a QT?

I suspect this leads some to cling to the idea that everything here is set up perfectly, and nothing must be changed.

My lungs hurt. Feels like back when I still smoked cigarettes, and would get drunk and smoke a whole pack in a day. 😶‍🌫️😮‍💨

I’m assuming it’s related to the fact that I can look out my windows and see smoke haze in the trees, and if I step out the door everything smells like a campfire, and my car is covered in wood ash.

in 1992, musician Sinead O'Connor's career virtually ended when she publicly protested the Catholic Church's sexual abuse of children.

Aside from the fact that history quickly proved her right, I'm struck by how utterly dignified and restrained her protest was. She didn't trash the Sistine Chapel. She tore up a photograph of the Pope at the end of a televised set. That's it. It cost her her career.

Thank you for speaking truth to power, and may you finally rest in peace.
