Okay #Fediverse, let’s get something straight. We are all grown ups here (hopefully) and can make choices for ourselves. We alive in a society that allows us the freedom to choose for ourselves what to do.
Why would you allow or want to be part of an instance where they choose for you who or what to block? I understand that there are BAD people on #Meta, just as there are on EVERY platform on the internet.
Give the regular people on each platform a chance to been seen.
@SallyStrange@moose I was never calling people names or whiners. I totally get the understanding behind the targeting because of one’s personal beliefs, ways of life, vulnerabilities, etc. Taking those into consideration is most important for sure.
All I was saying is that, each one of us has the freedom of making our own choice. Just because we have differences of options doesn’t make us any more right or wrong. We just see things differently. Appreciate your input.
It’s crazy to believe that I've surpassed 800 followers here on Mastodon! On that other site, I had over 6.1K but never had the engagement I am having here. Numbers don’t matter, quality does!

So I’ve been trying to use Apple Notes as my notes “Brain” so to say. I keep finding myself wanting to go back to Notion due to the lack of functionality in Apple Notes.
I’m thinking about switching apps. What does everyone use as their go to note taking/organizing app?
Some that I’m considering is Drafts, Bear, and Obsidian.
@kylewritescode Wow, what great responses! I agree with @Doony that your choice depends on your needs. I need back links and block (paragraph)-level linking and embedding, so I use Roam Research (Logseq also does this) (I've never used it, by my understanding is Obsidian links only at the note level). I still have a ton of notes in OneNote, and love that app except it lacks back links .

For me, I’m currently sitting at a local coffee shop waiting for a client’s office to open so I can make a quick service call. Then it’s off to the office for the usual. Later will be just relaxing.
@cliffwade I have tried cold coffee before and I just can't get over the mouth to mind of coffee not being hot. Plus, there is the taste of it. It just tastes off to me.
I am hot natured also but coffee being hot is just "right" to me no matter the temperature outside.
@kylewritescode Gotcha. That certainly makes sense. A lot of people feel that coffee that's not hot just isn't really coffee or doesn't really taste like coffee.

@kylewritescode Oh... hmm... I see the creamer as essential, but maybe something else could be used. The point is that there has to be a fat source in the drink. The kavalactones (the active ingredient in kava) bind to the fat, and it improves absorption in the body.
If you don't want a creamer, I'd do a search on the Internet. Maybe other people found something else to use.
I honestly have to disagree with this. I have been on Bluesky for a little while now and haven’t really found it to be as fun, engaging, or active as I have here. It is a whole different experience and world over there. I try to post over there and it’s crickets 🦗. I'm reluctant to try another site. It takes time to generate a following and I can't be doing that over and over again simply because a new platform shows up trying to be the new twitter.
@Aaron@cliffwade@jcrabapple Honestly, I too don’t think it’s there yet. It’s too early for Sept IMO we’d be seeing CAD maybe mock-ups, but, Apple has surprised us.
@kylewritescode On a hardware side, it's so hard for them to keep secrets. Hence why Dynamic Island was such a WOW moment: all software.
I know foldables are interesting but I just can’t see how the iPhone gets there with the current tech. Apple is always late to the game in order to perfect the category’s shortcomings. To me, the folding tech hasn't been sussed out enough yet.
