It's essential to look at the extreme dangers of a second Trump administration. If Trump does win, it’s important to realize that even the best-case scenarios are very bad — for Democrats and the left, certainly, but also for democracy.

And that's one reason why Biden is just as dangerous, if not more. Liberals are happily defending Trump policies because they're done by a Democrat.

Because they're fine with genocide and kids in cages, apparently, as long as there's no mean tweets.

If you discuss Joe Biden's age or a third party, I see you as nothing but a bad actor in this situation. Basic LOGIC makes clear what needs to happen here to save democracy and our lives, so anything else is pure fuckery.

    @Teri_Kanefield have you read Democracy In Chains? It also explores how the southern planter idea of oligarchy/aristocracy is oppositional to democracy - and has been since the founding of the nation! Even the term "liberty" to them is reflective of this.

    Yes, I am against both Israelian occupation and Hamas terrorism. There is no conflict in that.

    Neither the Palestinian people nor the Israelian people deserve this brutal war that evil governments thrust on them.

    But no, baby brains can only conceive of everything bad in the world being the fault of the supervillain of the week. So it must be Russia. Despite the fact that Israel isn't opposed to Russia, and Russia worries more about Islamacists than any thing besides NATO.

    And one of the benefits of this has been that we don't have people wildly promoting conspiracy theories and screaming for war generally.

    And of course deciding that cursing and name calling is just fine for them. Which is how resistance people act on Twitter.

    It's nice that walked back to terms that don't apply unless you use their latest engine, but that's the take-away: you need to not use their latest anymore. Finish your game. Find another engine. This is just an escape clause.

    Anyone who sticks with them will get screwed the next time their c-suite wants to goose their stock price.

    If you can find a way to keep making games on old Unity versions, that works too probably. But. You'll hit issues if you want to target consoles. There is no porting path for most (any?) Unity versions more than 2 years old at time of port.

    EDIT: (but really even old versions, they already changed their minds once on that, so assuming they won't again is foolish- find a new engine after you finish out current projects)

    Having just had an attempted right-wing brigading, it's made me appreciate just how much better moderation is with a model.

    Instead of having to depend on near slave labor in the Philippines to handle it badly, since I run my instance I report the first lame troll to their instance. Then when I see a wave of bad trolls all from the same 2 instances come, I block those instances, and the problem is solved.

    in geopolitics, domino theory was coined as an anticommunist war monger position, particularly in South America and South East Asia. US had to invade, kill, maim and torture people to stop spread of Communism. Now, it continues as Russian Federation invades, kills, maims and totures to stop spread of "NATO Nazism", or rather pro-EU and pro-US breakways from its region.
