I've been on a real quest for knowledge today. A question crossed my mind, do British people learn about their history the same way others learn about their history? For example, growing up during history classes everything related to the British ended up with death, destruction and conquest.. but I'm certain British kids aren't painted that picture of themselves in history class.

I wonder how they were taught about the world.

@mikey I’m an Irish immigrant in Britain and my experience is… nope! They don’t seem to be taught anything about it, to the point of 90% of them literally not knowing Ireland is a separate country

For Admins who will be, and for non-Admins who are urging, blocking instances that do not block Threads, given that the mothership, mastodon[.]social, and many other major servers, will not block Threads, do they really want to be in an essentially empty corner of the Fediverse where they can only interact with less than 1% of the people in the Fediverse?

The demand to block servers for punishment because they don't block Threads doesn't seem to make practical sense to me when it means blocking the Fediverse.
