@mina ich kenne Zünfter aus Zünften die noch man-only sind. Und das sind durchaus vernünftige Menschen, über das Thema „Frauen in der Zunft“ kann man mit ihnen aber schlicht nicht diskutieren. Dauert wohl noch ne Generation 🙄
@matt Do they have the technical skills and capabilities? Sure!
But do they have the leadership and vision to invest into/commit to a gaming ecosystem in a way which builds trust with both developers and users? Looking at their gaming track record, I seriously doubt that.
So for those persons so excited about Threads federating with #Mastodon/Fediverse, here's a thought experiment for you.
What would you say if Musk said he wanted to federate #Twitter/X with Mastodon/Fediverse?
Think REALLY carefully before answering this one, keeping in mind the ramifications of trying to treat Meta and X differently at scale in this context.

@lauren I see the point. OTOH, isn’t it one of the benefits of federation that one can choose to federate with Threads but not with X or Untrue Social?
Every few weeks the same thing with Signal for Mac. Same for WhatsApp. Only iMessage gets this right and treats non-phone devices as first-class clients that can actually log in on their own.
2FA codes and password reset links usually are only valid for a short period of time, so finding a database with old codes/links most likely doesn’t pose a risk. A bad actor monitoring the DB in realtime probably would have been able to reset passwords and (depending on the design of the password reset screen) take over accounts.
@intermobility@kuketzblog von den 130 Mio merkst du auf Masto aber erst mal nix, du siehst ja auch dann nur Accounts denen du aktiv folgst. Was durchaus eine Chance sein kann, auch mit Menschen (oder Institutionen) zu interagieren welche kein Masto-Account haben (wollen).
