Artisan | Solarpunk | Digital Sorcerer

My craft spans the boundless realms of #infosec, #security, #networking, #discovery, #osint, #engineering, #opensource, and #devops, weaving spells within the circuits of cyberspace.

Beyond the arcane incantations of binary and encryption, I am a wanderer of illumination, seizing the marvels of existence through my mystical lens as a photographer. Amidst the labyrinth of interests, I pirouette amidst the shades as a versatile sorcerer of the digital realm

every time i see a headline about how some org is "using ai to revolutionize redteaming" or like "ai is gonna force multiply security" i think of these sort of examples - and i think its gonna move things backwards in a surprising way. dont quit your dayjobs, security nerds - we're gonna be unrolling this stuff for years

@Viss it can be good to also encapsulate and find patterns.

Hi community I hve some very specific questions to ask about python but I don’t know how to ask them.

Is there anyone in this space who can donate an hour of mentoring time?

Thank you.

🪫 Somehow, all of my AirTags, along with my Eco Bee sensors, have needed to be replaced over the last two weeks.

I'm also surprised how many devices have disappeared despite being "With Me" or lost in a room.

The failure rate of Amazon's CR2032 batteries is 50% at best.

@webology I so badly want to be able to code on my iPad. Puter.com does a decent job if I need some scratch space. Otherwise I use windows Remote Desktop for a vm I have.

We live in a very weird time.

@ai6yr I used to be a fan of biometrics and then when I started learning how much information was being capitalized on it has really made me yearn for a different world.

Good morning

How are we all doing today? Let's all take a moment to comment below and discuss what the day has in store for each of us.

For me, it's just the usual work stuff. On-boarding/training was completed yesterday for my transition from a contractor to a full-time employee, so it's back to normal starting today, which is nice.

No plans for the rest of the day though I do hope to get some video game time in later.

@cliffwade just working on a few projects + homework

rye,

@cliffwade thanks, the project is part of a longer thing which is good and bringing joy.
The homework is mostly repetition so I will address it soon.

The Problem:

While there have been some attempts to document publicly disclosed security incidents, a fundamental problem exists: there is a lack of an all-encompassing, freely available, unprocessed dataset on security incidents that offers the depth required to support both community research and corporate decision-making. Various organizations do collect and, to some extent, share consolidated datasets, but these datasets are often not structured for easy data manipulation and transformation necessary for research. Additionally, the underlying data might not be openly accessible to the public. This deficiency has posed longstanding challenges for researchers investigating security incidents and for risk managers who lack access to dependable data for their risk assessments.
