I am seriously considering making a #lemmy comm for NoDumbLinuxQuestions for all those dumb basic questions that everyone makes fun of and frankly, I would like answered already. I do not even pretend I am close to a medium on #Linux but that is a plus: I can get my dumb questions answered too.
Sometimes I think my trauma trying to learn #Ubuntu Server in Linux forums a decade ago has permanently scarred me. Also made me hate Socrates like a lot and I used to think he was pretty cool.
#Fediverse かぶれ気味でブラウザもできればビッグテックから離れたいと思って、Vivaldi あたりがいいのかなと調べてみると、厳密にはソースコードはオープンだけどビルドはできない、ブラウザが動くHWを固有 ID で識別して本社で管理してるなどの中途半端なオープンさがあるそう。
究極的には Tor とか Chromium とかそれ以前の原始的ブラウザを使うしかないのだろうから、「広告押し付けない」「ユーザー情報を売らない」あたりで妥協するのが現実的と思った。あとは住めば都とする。

Twitter is down, but it’s not out. But please #fediverse, do let the big players in. We need their capacity too.
This is an open platform, Meta can already scrape your data. But they can’t get on your server, no matter what. They can’t run an algorithm for you either.
If we want to change the rules of the game so it’s fairer for the masses, who just want to use something easy ”where everyone is” we can’t do it if we stay outside.
The benefit of being an a small server is most felt during surges in signups here (although I suspect there will be a ripple effect from the larger servers running slow). #Fediverse
