Three years. Three fucking years of zero in my home.

Now my husband is quarantined downstairs for who knows how long, and I’m building a Corsi-Rosenthal box for the living room, because the HEPA air purifier with the UVC light is camping downstairs with him.

I tested negative earlier tonight, really hoping I manage to stay that way.

Oh no! You're sick ?

A few things you might not know:

✓ They told everyone to vax / boost & that that would be enough & nobody would have to mask. That has since turned out to be incorrect.

✓ Masking with an N95, KN95, or elastomeric respirator will keep you the most protected.

✓ FIT is important. If air can get in around the edges, you're not protected.

✓This means surgical masks will NOT protect you.

A former friend, who works in schools, tried downplaying covid & didn't think mask mandates should be put back into schools is now sick from covid & so is her whole household.
It's now the 3rd time they've been infected & this time - she's being hospitalized & put on a respirator. I hope this will be a huge wakeup call for her & her family because they acted like covid was over. They were irresponsible & reckless with not masking up & travelling out of country with a child.

I find it both hilarious & shitty that the only question any councillor had when seeing my multiple vids of their was - How many people have seen these videos?

That confirms for me, my family & friends here that their council doesn't give a shit about their cops violating our but they're concerned about 👎

Bunch of weak wankerdoodles in public office 🤡🤑😡

Have you been infected with COVID-19 multiple times? | ABC

🔹Immunology experts say contracting COVID multiple times is a sign there could be a problem with the immune system.

🔹Researchers have found the more times you're infected the higher chance you have of developing long COVID or other chronic health conditions.

🔹Those at risk are urged to be up to date with their booster vaccinations.

"Getting COVID-19 multiple times means either you're exposed to it a fair bit and you're not as diligent protecting yourself, or there might be something wrong with your ability to fight infections," Professor Faux said

I need help with that I can use with trying to educate a few friends who I can't be around physically because they are referring to covid as seasonal. I know it's not. Please help me with finding some easy to understand links or graphics that I can send to them so they can learn why it is not like seasonal cold/flu. Search results had too many disinformation links; need help on links & graphics without disinfo.

About COVID complacency and denial :

We have not gone back to the “old normal”. The pandemic is not over. We are now in the transition to a “new normal” where COVID is everywhere (even if we ignore it) and the health system is under strain even when “at rest” and at high risk during outbreaks.

I'm still struggling with the reaction I get from most people if I just say the word "covid".

A relative is now in the hospital with covid, for fluid in the lungs. What reaction do you expect from people when you tell them someone is in the hospital?

"Oh I'm sorry to hear that," "I hope they'll be ok," typical responses, right? Just something anyway. What do you think I get if I say someone is in the hospital due to covid?

Silence. That's what I get. No response.

If I talk about vaccines and say "covid", I get silence. If I talk about someone being sick and say "covid", I get silence. Anything at all, any topic, if I say the word "covid" the other person falls silent.

I can't think of any other topic where this happens. People at least try to be polite and dig out a canned response. Cancer? AIDS? Tragic accident? Assault? Anything else. I've never had so many people fall silent at the mention of one single word.

Oh and after several days, no one is following up either. Not "how are they doing?" or anything. Nothing. They would rather that my sick relative doesn't exist. What would they do if I was sick or disabled from covid? I guess they would rather I stop existing. It would make them more comfortable.

A suggestion for those who still wear masks because of :

If you get questions why you are wearing one, simply say:

"Because I don't want to infect anyone."

This shifts the conversation away whether or not you are a "coward" for worrying about a "harmless flu" or whatever rot is making the rounds. If the persons talking to you interpret this to mean that you are infected right now, they might back off and leave you alone - a win.

If they actually ask you about it, you can say: "I don't know - it's been a while since my last test. Better to be safe."

And if they ask whether wearing a mask doesn't bother you, you can answer:

"I have neither hypersensitivity with things touching my skin, nor any respiratory ailments that would make breathing with a mask difficult. So the discomfort is only minor, and I am more than happy to make that sacrifice for others."

This ought to make them squirm, for it implies without stating that those who refuse to wear masks are either selfish, or that they have some kind of disability that would make wearing one intolerable. And since COVID denial and ableism go hand in hand, it should be interesting for them to try and weasel out of this one.

I love having a CO2 monitor to check the air quality in indoor spaces (my grocery store, my dentist’s office, etc.). I’m relieved when stores have good ratings, and I’ve convinced my dentist’s office to open windows to get the rating down to an acceptable level.

I use an and thanks to @brainwane I learned they are on sale (at quite a discount) until Sept. 17. Highly recommended for the Covid-cautious who don’t have one already.
