TIL there's a "Gereja Ayam" (literally Chicken Church) in Indonesia that looks like it'd fit right into #NierAutomata lol, maybe the theme park and feature a secret boss fight with the chicken head if you hit it just enough times.
Playing Nier Automata while waiting upon the release of another #game…It’s a beautiful and frustrating experience thus far. I can overcome some of the challenges it presents, so I go into focus mode upon being challenged. If you ever come across my body, “A cursed child got killed at a blood-soaked battlefield.” is the death message you’d encounter. Surprisingly, I only die in encounters with multiple phases. In normal combat or boss fights…I survive!
I got the first part of this amazing story finished! The next playthrough will begin shortly after credits (the song that’s playing is so damn good)! As there are several stories to explore from another character’s perspective. Thematically speaking, this game is solid. Input responsiveness lacks the crispness required for a game like this, that’s a shame!

I'm a 26 year old (in Nov 2024) (gfdi) programmer obsessed with languages such as #Python and #Shell, frameworks like #Django, and #CloudNative shenanigans like #Docker, #Kubernetes, and #Helm. I'm also obsessed with #FOSS and #Linux, and promoting them to be more viable each day for the masses so everyone could have not just free but secure access to daily computing.

Resumed my #NierReplicant playthrough after leaving it for quite a long while and man, really, almost nothing ever gives me the feels yet #Nier/#YokoTaro#games never fail in making me feel something so strongly. Its simple yet powerful story, its unmatched music and sound design, its somehow perfect movement (I keep emphasising how important this is to me in games), combat, and gameplay mechanics, and most importantly its amazing set of characters that you couldn’t help but feel invested in… Nuts just how long I’ve ignored them in the past. #NierAutomata was the first #game I bothered to platinum/100% in gameplay and achievements, I’ve a feeling I’ll do the same with Replicant as well.
I have no idea why they made fishing so hard in a #game like #NierReplicant lol, esp coming from #NierAutomata which was expectedly easy as a non-fishing focused game.
Once I got the hang of #NierAutomata after a few hours of getting my ass kicked, I now find the combat more satisfying than frustrating. I like the various upgrade systems and the way you install chips in yourself and the plot is great. I see why everyone loves this game. Looks like it's my first game of the year. #NintendoSwitch#NewYear
I finished #RedDeadRedemption and started #NierAutomata. I know people love this game and I can see some of what is great about it already but I'm also afraid I will bounce off of it if I have to play the first mission over again too many more times. 😑 #NintendoSwitch
#SteamYearInReview for 2023 is out, also my first year of #gaming entirely on the #SteamDeck (90%) and #Linux (10%). In comparison, my 2022 numbers had #Windows at 79% playtime and #macOS at 4%, the rest being Steam Deck (10%) and Linux (7%).
My highlight must definitely be #NierAutomata. As someone who 99% of the time never completes any #game ever, not by even half, I started and platinum-ed the game within 3 months. That #YokoTaro game is genuinely a masterpiece.

#GenshinImpact is very pretty and always gives me FOMO surrounded by people playing it, but every time I revisit and play it I honestly feel lost lol. And while it's really fun for the most part, my expectations perhaps got set a lil too high for it (due to the pretty visuals, and popularity) so when I encounter some jankiness in certain elements of gameplay, it feels a bit jarring. The mechanics feel like it could be as fluid as #NierAutomata or as polished as #Zelda#BOTW/#TOTK, but it's not. It's not all bad though, I'd say 80-90% of it is great - esp considering that it's free (so far at least for me, not sure if the later parts of the game would require/incentivise you to spend any money).
I saw #Dethklok and #BabyMetal Live last Thursday. Dethklok is already one of my favorite #bands so I expected to love them, but now I am literally obsessed with BabyMetal. At first I thought they were just a novelty, but the juxtaposition of cute #Jpop vocals and every sub genre of #metal you can think of is lighting up all the pleasure centers of my brain. #SuMetal's vocals are incredible and give me a similar emotional reaction to the #NierAutomata soundtrack.
