Liebe #Journalistinnen,Moderatorinnen,Veranstalter*innen

@twynn@JonathanMosen Actually, if you have a free OpenAI account, you can turn off Improve the model for everyone in Settings > Data controls on this webpage. How much can we trust them? It's different story. lol https://chatgpt.com/#settings/DataControls
Même avec les bons paramètres je ne peux que constater que c'est toujours autant la merde pour configurer une boite à lettre Free sur un smartphone Android.
Soit les serveurs de messagerie IMAP/POP sont en rade, soit c'est Android qui fait chier.
I love that I’m building a Settings page for Kitten apps (Small Web places) which, if I do my job right, very few people should ever have reason to seek out or use.
“Allow friends to post to my wall?Your contacts may write posts on your profile wall. These posts will be distributed to your contacts” I don’t understand what toggling this option off/on does? #Friendica#Vier#Settings@helpers

This is thoughtful design: Muji apparently released a flashlight that works with any combination of 2 AA and 2 AAA batteries, only more dimly with fewer batteries.
I'm going to have a bit of a #tech#rant (less charitable people might say #whine) here. If you just want jokes and cute bunny pictures, feel free to skip this one.
Object of my #ire this week? #Furnaces. I'm not even going to rant about their main control boards; most of that's been said better than I could say it, by others with more knowledge than I.
So of course each furnace line has a different (in my case) #Rheem#part#number for the motor, even though all of them are actually the same 1/2 HP GE motor and controller -- they've just had different #settings "blown" into them.
And if you try to use the "wrong" motor from another furnace, the control board says "no way!" and won't work.
So Rheem gets to keep #selling#parts that are #exclusive only to them, and only for one model of furnace, so they're stupidly #expensive.
Please respond by saying what sorts of TTRPG things you're pretty likely to either talk about or respond to if you see them.
This can be a list of games (D&D! Tribe 8! Fate!) or categories (the weirdest of indie stuff! NSR! Anything PBtA!), topics (Worldbuilding! Publishing!), stuff you're making, meta-commentary (The State Of The Industry), and so on.
Then maybe share, and if the replies are building up, check them for new people.
I noticed that KUP (Kbin Usability Pack) 0.2.1 by @Perry added some settings refactoring that hides the old .settings-list instead of updating in place. This unfortunately has a side-effect of causing script's settings that are slower, or wait on DOM to load, to be hidden instead of displayed with their new refactor.
In order to prevent this issue in the future, I've updated to create our own DIV and simply append it to the #settings.section DIV instead. Without KUP, you'll notice no difference in how settings are displayed from version 0.2.1, but if you're using KUP, it currently puts your options section at the top of the new section created by KUP. I imagine this will change if KUP moves to prepend instead of append. In my view, mod options should have always been last in any settings list solution, so I do hope that change is made at the very least.
It might be a good idea to have comment replies turned on by default, I feel like it'll help drive discussion/engagement but that's ultimately up to the devs
OC kbin-mod-options; Mod options made easy
kbin-mod-options...
I just noticed that notifications for replies to comments/posts are disabled by default, to enable them you just need to go to your settings and check the relevant boxes
