I really am trying hard to not let these self righteous busy bodies run me off this platform and back to #MuskyTwitter or #Spoutible#BlueSky#post#linkedIn just a random thought from today.
Trying to follow the #Spoutible news today from my instance reminds me that not a lot gets to here because my instance is tiny. I made a tool for that, though. It's a Web app called the Big #Mastodon#Hashtag Search. You can use it too! It's free and ad-free at https://mastogizmos.com/bmhs.html . 1/5
Such reports have become more frequent recently. Of course, #web#security is not just simple, but as a provider you should, in my opinion, test it officially to maintain #trust – is #spoutible professional?
«Twitter alternative spouts a massive #leak: Spoutible’s #API coughed up #password's, #2FA info, and tokens that could let attackers take over anyone’s #account.»
hey so if you have a #spoutible account you need to immediately scroll to the end of this post, take the four steps listed, and then read the whole post. a vulnerability that was just fixed made it possible for an attacker to take complete control of your account without you getting any kind of notification.
#Spoutible is an alternative social media platform, and it’s adding an #AI assistant named “Spouty” that will be able to assist with basic support questions, as well as respond to commands like “Remove any followed accounts if they haven’t spouted in over 6 months.” Or “Follow the top 15 accounts in the tech industry.”
Catching up on some conversations I missed on Spoutible - I see some discussion from the organization that they have no plans to support authentication with all Mastodon servers, just a chosen few.
There seems to be a misunderstanding of how API authentication and tokens work on the platform. But I'm not about to step into that conversation, because I myself have questioned it!
In other alternative socials news, Spoutible gives a short demo of their upcoming "Pods" feature, which is similar to Twitter Spaces (live audio conversations). An extended public demo is expected this Friday.
I was only using ONE platform, but recently added one. It's just as easy to CUT-PASTE to another place as to use a Cross-Posting third Platform. Not sure I'm sold, but perhaps others are interested/
#Spoutible will be adding "Pods", an audio live streaming feature, in the new year, with a live demonstration planned next week.
This is something near and dear to the CEO as he often uses Twitter Spaces to hold public forums.
FYI, the fediverse does have something similar, but it's not well known and has recently been shelved. Would be great to see someone pick this up again. Check out Audon.
The #Mastodon software setting of #Spoutible is now a dropdown menu. Currently only for mastodon.social and mastodon.online.
Maybe it's temporary but if it's not, they'll have to add at least a hundred reputable and popular servers. Also, it's Mastodon software only. There are far more software, older and/or better than Mastodon which will probably not get support, at least as far as the approach I am seeing.
#Spoutible is knocking on #Mastodon's door with an initial cross posting test with mastodon.social only. Only text posts (no media attachments or polls(?)) are sent over.
This post was created in Spoutible, then cross posted to #Bluesky and Mastodon.
Spoutible offers investment opportunities to users, raises almost $250,000 in a day. Some users didn’t realize it was an investment, thought it was a donation…
Has Mastodon ever raised $250,000 in a day? How do we make that happen?
The new #SNS: #Pebble (formerly #T2#T2social) just announced that they are shutting down the free service this coming November 1st.
--start-of-quote--
The painful truth, however, is that we were not growing quickly enough for investors to believe that we will break out. Combine that with a crowded space of alternatives - and the uphill climb is even steeper. In order to continue to build out a complete Pebble, we would have needed more investment, and more time.
Still wondering, are the familiar user interface and this certain "exclusiveness" (via invite) the only traits that attract people to join Bluesky? I mean it's so incomplete it blows my mind.
@rolle Because it was spearheaded by none other than Jack Dorsey.
One the Twitter founders & former CEO making something new after forcing Musk to OVERpay? Yeah, i don't know. #bluesky is a horrible place.
I want a Twitter alternative, NOT ANOTHER #twitter .
There's #mastodon + tons of other options within #fediverse. Also there's #spoutible , which i find quite interesting. So many features & it's only 8 months old.
