@dangillmor @verge The great irony of ’s / #X content is how they remain tacitly deeply committed to it as a social media platform, even while constantly reporting on its continual slide into rent-seeking debravity.

And I geddit, not many other places ready for “prime-time” media yet, and I’ve been glad to see them start to cross post all their content here, and they have plenty of staff with accounts here as well (if they’re often quiet), but over all of that, they still have all the X buttons on every page. Let's begin a campaign to have news online sources STOP USING Xitter. HuffPo not only has links to xitter, but fills its articles with xitter post embedding. The Verge, too many.

Please call for news orgs to STOP embedding, stop linking, remove xitter badges from aerticles and site Maps.

Just Do It.

Cut off xitter. End it.

Truck bloat is killing us, new crash data reveals

"How tall are we talking here? According to the IIHS, the average US passenger vehicle has gotten about four inches wider, 10 inches longer, eight inches taller, and 1,000 pounds heavier over the past 30 years. Many vehicles are more than 40 inches tall at the leading edge of the hood. And on some large pickups, the hoods are almost at eye level for many adults."
