Vardáris is one of my favourite parts of Thessaloníki. Although way past its prime, the neighborhood feels nostalgic and alive with memories of when it was lively and chaotic.

Behind the Heptapýrgion in Thessaloníki, ruins of the fort blend in with more recent buildings. It's an arranged marriage, one of convenience, with the Byzantine arches contrasting the clean modern lines.
