I've been busy over the last several weeks and haven't been posting much but we've had a few good lifer weeks recently so here we go.
We were visiting my parents in South Central Pennsylvania and got a glimpse of this Sora..... with chicks!
The tiny, brown-and-white sand martin is a common summer visitor to the UK, nesting in colonies on rivers, lakes and flooded gravel pits. It returns to Africa in winter. Info from the Wildlife Trust to which I am a member, and my location today (Pitsford Water) is one of the Wildlife Trusts nature reserves.
This Cormorant is stood on a tree stump in the middle of a lake which once homed many trees. It's seen something in the water...mins later it fishes out a twig 😂
It's been a grey old day, so much so I couldn't find the motivation to go out. But at 4pm I thought I'd just take a stroll round the Local reserve (Summer Leys), not expecting any/many photo opportunities. But I saw a few interesting things and had a go at capturing them with an ounce of over exposure.
This one is ' Three Wise Long-tailed tit Juveniles'
The widest shot this lens would allow. It was windy, fortunately, as it allowed the nest to be seen, but it was a challenge waiting for the way to be clear enough to see the critters and have the critters in a cooperative pose. It's days past when this last egg should've hatched and it seems the adults have given up on it.

Been hearing them the past two years but not had a chance to photograph. Very cute birds and I ran across it while it was singing its heart out so I got to watch its behavior for a while. Awesome first encounter 🙂
