@RockyC I've used #EOS for 3 years myself. AUR helpers did have to get built and required compiles, but the EOS team has binaries of yay in their repo.
Still, it's not many that likely have to do this.
Your situation is likely that package you needed, and no one to maintain a true package, so likely a .git was it. Remember what it was?
Today I ordered a new-open-box Motorola One 5G Ace #smartphone for $214 USD. I plan to install /e/OS on it. Assuming it works well with my carrier and runs all the apps I need, I intend to use it as my daily driver for as long as it receives OS updates.
I've tried numerous times to get away from the #Apple and #Google smartphone duopoly. I hope this time I can make it work.
I've just realized that #eos is now officially available on my phone (Xiaomi 11 lite 5g ne)!
I've just backup my files and tomorrow I'll be flashing it, hopefully everything goes well!
All of these days I've been using linage os with custom nikgapps config to remove some of the Google spokiness but I think microg is good enough for me. I'll probably gonna do a blog post with all the details.

Now I have used /e/ OS as my daily driver for my mobile phone for a few weeks. It is a free open source software based on the open Android, from e.foundation. I replaced the original Google-Android + Samsung addons with /e/. It works generally well! #openSource#FOSS#eos
This extension is just a must-have, if you daily drive an #android (or #eOS) phone alongside your #GNOME desktop. It just gets out of my way and lets me enjoy the great integration of my phone with my #linux desktop. Amazing work.

Um jedoch #eOS oder #LineageOS installieren zu können, ist die Android 8.1-Stock-Firmware Voraussetzung. Allerdings ist ein OTA-Update nicht mehr möglich, und alle bisher gefundenen Links auf das entsprechende OTA-Image sind tot. 😢 Evtl. findet jemand von euch einen funktionierenden Link? #Zeitspende
