Qualcomm has been working to upstream Linux support for this high-end "System on a Chip" device asset!
◉Snapdragon X Elite is a bit of a momentum for ARM powered processing
◉Upon success it'll disrupt the x86-processor (e.g. Intel dominated market)
◉One of ARM's benefits is great battery life

The United States has landed another blow to China’s technological advancement, by revoking licenses that allowed Intel and Qualcomm to buy and sell chips to Huawei Technologies, reports @engadget.
Huawei was hit hard when it was placed on U.S. trade restrictions lists in 2019, but a recent comeback — including the launch of an AI-enabled laptop powered by an Intel chip — appears to have renewed the government’s national security worries.

Specifically, how much power does the chip consume?
I would only consider any of the upcoming Windows on ARM laptops with the new Qualcomm processors if and only if there is first-tier support for Linux and nothing is locked-down tight re: Secure Boot or TPM.
Some encouraging browser results for Windows on ARM! Google delivering ARM support for Chrome is boosting benchmark scores above Edge on ARM and above Chrome and Edge on Intel chips. 👍

I'm unable to fix my #oneplus6 with the Windows tools. I can install the #qualcomm driver and the device is detected by windows but not in the msm tool (wrong COM port) so I can't reinstall #postmarketos nor the original #firmware. Any advice? I don't want to buy another phone again 😕
