For those not in the know, this is one of the Amanita #mushrooms referred to as a Destroying Angel. Never, ever, ever, ever #forage with an #app. Especially for mushrooms.
By act of sheer will--and in mockery of a disinterested algorithm--I have reached the third anniversary of this silly channel (which also means it's nearly my birthday).
I'm working on Gunnar Brammer's Chosen One streamer pattern. These hooks (Gamakatsu B10s #1/0) aren't quite big enough for the full fuzzy fiber head. If I drop down to a #1 or a #2, I can tie the same fly and leave the head off; I think they will make really nice deceivers without the bulky head.
This material is a kanekalon product called Easy Braid. It is way less expensive than the premium craft fur products marketed for tying streamers.
Hi all, time for some #introductions ! I'm Ty, and I've lived on ~50 acres of stolen Oneida land for the last 10 yrs with my partner and kids. We have some #livestock and a couple of #dogs. We #forage and #garden, spin and weave, and generate more electricity than we consume. We teach and learn and try new things.
Currently we're making maple syrup and on #lamb watch for new babies so feel free to follow if you're into that kind of thing. I work at #foss non-profit doing data stuff, so I'll also have thoughts on #tech#enshittification and #privacy.
I'm consolidating my myriad fediverse accounts here so some folks might know me as @SolArlo or @bmez etc. I just like *Key/[Fire|Ice][Fish|Shrimp] better, and appreciate the work the infosec.exchange folks do! Howdy.
Yarrow, with its delicate fern-like leaves and clusters of tiny, dainty flowers, is far more than just a picturesque addition to the wild meadows and gardens...
Re- #Introduction time! I'm Ash, a stop motion animator of wildlife and paleontologist.
In the last year I moved from Australia to France and to Mastodon from my ex Twitter handle @aela_wild.
With the move I renamed my business to StudioWild. So far it's a better fit :)
Now that I'm set up, I post about natural history and share my mixed media art. I'm looking forward to getting to know my new landscape and all the weird wild animals and places in between.
All ready for making balm and dandelion honey 🥰 When they start to die off we dig the roots for coffee. Do pick responsibly, we have a field full of them and our rule is to pick a few then move a couple of meters, leave plenty for wildlife 🐝 #nature#wildlife#flowers#forage#dandelions#sunshine
