Might I share my Black experience of ending up on Mastodon?
I was with the queer disabled BIPOC art community on Twitter. They're more internet savvy than the average internet user. So groups within groups connected to groups of people.
Many were making comics online and selling at conventions since the days of Angelfire and Geocities. 1990s.
When sht began to hit the fans, folks had relied on twitter. Sure they had their own sites... but... #blackmastodon#blackfedi

These are just some examples that I could think of right away, but it is your community, so you should know how to reach them.
As for me, I am trying to enlarge/rebuilt my diverse network, and have been making progress with indigenous people of North America (so far). I hope,...
I ALSO encourage everybody to do the same. No dog required- and you spend some quality time out of doors! (Don't forget the sunscreen, though.) Happy Saturday!

May 1, is #MayDay, aka #InternationalWorkersDay, a day celebrated by those who work for a living around the globe. However, the US does not officially recognize International Workers' Day. Why not?
Another version of that #Meme that seems more accurate lately.
Shills for the rich corporate owners help to stoke divisiveness between members of the working classes (including both working-class White men and "others" such as immigrants, LGBTQ people, etc...).
That's why certain politicians and news orgs continually provoke fear and distrust of "others." It keeps the working classes from uniting and demanding better working conditions and higher pay.
