Bumpy week ahead. But coming across these photos of banana slugs made me feel better, so maybe they’ll help your week, too! From my trip to the Redwoods State & National Parks in Northern California, May 2023.
Chatting with a work colleague yesterday. He had just come back from a trip to a couple of the National Parks in California. Loved the trees, hated the crowded buses. He had to stand, which hurt his knees. He says there are too few park staff. Electric bike riding in U.S. National Parks is a contentious topic. Now the NPS wants to know what you think on whether they should be permanently banned?
Epic day biking the Going to the Sun Road in Glacier National Park. Bikes are allowed before the road opens to cars, which will be any day now. Absolutely spectacular. 3200 ft elevation gain in 16 miles from Avalanche Trail head to Logan Pass. Going up is some work, but the ride back is all downhill. #biking#outdoors#nationalparks#glaciernationalpark#NoCars#Quiet

This is the Great White Throne in Zion National Park #Utah just as the sun was beginning to rise. The throne stands in contrast being made mostly of white Navajo limestone.
Let me show you one of Utah's natural wonders: Arches National Park. It's one of those iconic National Parks in the American West where you feel overwhelmed by the creative power of nature.
