It's very warm today, so I escaped into the woods in search of shade. It was green and lush and lovely.

Y'all I just made myself feel so old, hubs looked up top 100 music from 2001, 2011, 2021, and today and the amount of music I could recognize decreased by significantly. I recognized probably 70% of 2001 and decreasing as I went on. BUT I blame the internet, I can listen to exactly the kind of music I want with no dependence on the radio, but also I'm old!

Allowing for declining hearing, I don't think I remember much from 1990 onwards.
It just seems to be a continuous hum of flat dirges.

Then again i've always had eclectic tastes, mostly classical, blues, jazz in that order.
Some more modern, a bit of pop, country, various shades of electronic, but not much.

Somebody made a passionate threnody on this here platform yesterday, about how people who "have it better" when Democrats are in charge don't give a damn about the disabled bc they got theirs.

It made me really sad. It's a kind of ignorance about the real world that says "My suffering is unique, and nobody understands it and the rest of you are privileged shits."

When I was a kid and demanding my parents tell me WHY I wasn't born to rich and famous parents? My parents told me this:

Without the Laundering racket, the BOTs / CDs and The City Of London would go out of business.

My only surprise is it is only 40 percent; I thought it was 60+.

The only change brought by laws regarding money laundering has been to make it harder for Brits to get and keep bank accounts.

What strikes me funny is how much STP will be wetting himself laughing wherever he is now at the exact kinds of people he poked fun at behaving like this in reference to his literary legacy*.

ALL those books; if those cretins could read, they would have enough intelligience to understand the BS_Johnson_Anvil in a velvet glove approach STP had to satire.

It took great skill to send up everyone without identifying any particlar group, but sharing the qualities amongst many.

While his embuggerance affected his later works, some obviously helped by Rhianna & Rob, the key themes and genuine rage against intolerance and hatred remained.

I ought to be really annoyed at the cretins, but frankly they are beneath contempt and do not deserve my pity.
Besides as I said, I imagine he would have been amused by it.

*There should be punctuation in there, but i'm uncertain what so left it out.

A lot of trees got seriously damaged in storms last winter, and were chopped down as a result. Nice to see so many of them fighting back this spring, and growing magnificent hairdos in the process.

Well if you really want to do spooky or at least mock spooky, how about just Myfanwy's crest in the middle of the straw and her friend to one side - Beaks 2.

Spookier would be grain on the left hand side, her friend in the middle and her crest and beak just visible on the right - aimed toward the grain - Beaks 3D.

I always see the opening off Airplane when I think of Jaws.
