@RickiTarr I went with "parents who had no business being parents ".

My father was emotionally abusive to me my entire life, until I cut him from my life in 1987. Apparently this was because he hated my mother or something... my 1/2 siblings did not have the same experience with him.

When he died, all I felt was relief.

My mother would have done better raising foster kids, not me. We still have a close relationship, but she is flawed.

@Lizette603_23 , I had a moment my second time with the group... and it was awesome. I looked around at the people in there and realized I was NOT the smartest person in the room. Probably not even in the top 75%!

This just made me feel so damn GOOD about the surroundings... I was so comfortable, I could listen to others, and know they were not going to solemnly quote an idiot.

This may sound bad in some way... But it is a really good thing. No one had to explain themselves.

@msquebanh , I'm lucky enough that I was born abled, and have avoided most accidents that limited mobility. My right hand is a bit screwed up, that's all. Back due to being rear ended when I was 17. But I'm OK.

My fear is brain damage. Or worse, being stupid.

@anathema_device I really am not against disarming the people, as Australia did. It doesn't change the homicide rate very much. But part of doing this is FIRST you need to disarm the police. If this is not done, you end up with two classes of people, and that is dangerous.

Hope’s documents, from her citizenship certificate to her original #passport, listed her country of birth as South Africa. However, when the #Toronto family went to renew her passport, the records of the Immigration, Refugees & #CitizenshipCanada system didn’t match.

@msquebanh About 10 years ago I remember needing Hanukkah candles. My family still has live Christmas trees, with actual candles on it. Christmas candles are no longer a thing, but Hanukkah candles are, so I bought some. I almost didn't, because I couldn't find any not made in Israel, and I couldn't stomach what settlers were doing to the West Bank.

I still bought them then.

Today, I would not.
