"SMTP Smuggling" vulnerability in Postfix allows to spoof senders even in the presence of some DMARC checks. Configuration workarounds exist.

Also, a wholehearted f* you to SEC Consult, who sat on this since June and disclosed it to some closed-source vendors and MSPs, but could apparently not be bothered to give e.g. Postfix a heads-up, publishing this close to the holidays.

So erlaubten bis vor Kurzem über 10'000 Domains, darunter grosse deutschsprachige Verlagsseiten, dass die Daten ihrer Nutzerinnen via #Yandex an den #Kreml geliefert werden.

@ysegrim @rysiek Princeton has a great team working on reproducibility in (medical) ML. Including a large list of what can go wrong.

(My favorite is the X-Ray analyzer for pneumonia, which mainly relied on the information whether the patient was x-rayed while standing or lying…)

While it's interesting research, I asked myself, how often I type passwords during a video conference.

With good hygiene, the only passwords you should ever type are those to unlock the local machines. (And maybe your password manager if it isn't linked to your login password.)

With password managers, key-based authentication (ssh keys, , , …) and local biometrics, typing remote passwords is obsolete. And dangerous.

Now, there's more happening:

Yesterday, polish Police entered the train manufacturer's headquarters and seized documents and computer media as evidence for the alleged wrongdoing of the manufacturer.

(The manufacturer tried to lock in the operator to the manufacturer's expensive services, to prevent another certified train servicing company from servicing the trains at a better price. ⬆️)

Die Browser-Wars sind wieder da! Aktuelle scheint seinen so konfiguriert zu haben, dass er bei gewissen Updates die Konfiguration und Tabs von klaut. Zumindest, ohne dass den Nutzern dies genügend klar gemacht wird.
Je nach Einstellungen werden diese Tabs dann mit MS geteilt.

@martinsteiger Es gibt etliche Gründe, wieso einige Projekte Audacity vor ein paar Jahren geforkt haben. U.a. die Erosion sowohl von Privatsphäre als auch GPL.

Ein bisschen davon sieht man hier zusammengefasst. Und dass sich Leute engagieren.

(Und spätestens seit sollte klar sein, dass Projekte bzw. die Leute dahinter auch Bedürfnisse haben.)
