Calckey is a Fediverse server type which includes lots of features that Mastodon doesn't yet have, such as emoji reactions, markdown, customisable interfaces, widgets and lots more.
To see for yourself, have a look on the official website at:
@feditips I appreciate the time and effort you put into keeping us up to date on this stuff. You make it easy to check things out and understand what they are meant to do. Thank you!!!!
@zyz@feditips@calckey Go to Settings > General, there's font settings in there. Also, there's compatibility with keyboard-based navigation and most screen readers.
@zyz@feditips@calckey@root that sounds like an issue with whatever browser you're using then, as it works fine zoomed in all the way on firefox and chrome.
@zyz@feditips@calckey Maybe the developer just wasn't aware of us, so don't be too hard on them yet. We should try calmly talking to the developer first before assuming the worst.
Hi! I was the one who mainly developed the landing page for Calckey. I'm still new to making things accessible so please link any resources that could help me or suggest any changes to the site. The site should have full keyboard support.
I depend on large & well spaced fonts & screen readers for accessibility. I use iOS devices- primarily my iPhone
Browser settings are adjusted to display magnified text
The website is remarkably restrictive in terms of what I can do. The page misbehaves if I try to increase font size & does not permit scrolling if the font is increased beyond a certain point by the top
@weirdwriter@feditips@calckey@freeplay by the way, I don’t know what you programmed the website in, but I can tell you that aesthetically speaking, I know that I would have loved your layout before my present condition
I did sign up for calckey but I was unable to figure out how to get the Advanced Web Interface that I'm now accustomed to in the regular Mastodon browser model. (I use my laptop, so I have a big screen.)
I did see that I could add columns but the four columns I have with AWP — entry/search, Home, Notifications, and the wild column — I could not replicate.
I might try it again at some point, but right now AWI works well for me.
@feditips@calckey Seems buggy. The “Submit” button never enabled on the account creation form, but I eventually got a pop up saying an email had been sent to confirm my address.
I did get the email and followed the link to confirm my email but got a few error popups and now it justs just stuck saying “Processing”.
@thelettuceman@feditips@calckey really easy! It's as simple as using mastodon's migration settings to set your new calckey account as an alias, then go to calckey's migration settings, paste in your old account, and hit "migrate"
To clarify: Calckey is a fork of Misskey, which has been around for a while. So it's not exactly "new". Just another Fediverse software that can interact with other Fediverse software :)
