Well over 20 years ago Hasbro sold off its wildly successful games publishing division. Now they are looking to bring it back ? :hmm_cat: #gaming#hasbro
Hrm.
I've avoided Nier: Automata because of the fanbase/fanart, but I just got curious and actually looked up a short video and... it kind of looks like what I wish Bayonetta 3 had been.
Anyone have any experience with it? How open is this? Hub based? JRPG styled? Level based with larger stages?
@NaClKnight@Gwendolyn I think Gwendolyn said it very well, the fourth wall break combined with the 😏 face you can see on the devs face.
It would be annoying as hell having to wear something like that and be careful about indecent exposure all the time, so maybe trying to identify with the character, some of that annoyance transfers over. In a way, if 2B only wore underwear it would be less annoying 😂
I've been questioning myself about why I feel this way and was trying to process why despite being into gals, I wasn't a fan of fanservice. Like, sure I like what I see, but not like this, and I think you nailed it. I can't help but put myself in her place and i guess there's like a feeling of second hand violation.
I’ve been playing and enjoying games like Virtua Tennis 4 for more than a decade, and these jokers want to come along and say “we’re absolutely shutting down your SINGLE PLAYER game in two years.” #StopKillingGames
@killyourfm A friend of mine I grew up with has played Tennis games on various consoles and PCs for a long time, and also enjoys the sport in real life. Once he finds this out, he'll probably rant over beers the next time I see him lol.
#gaming perhaps an extremely obvious observation about #manamon: when next starting from scratch, try and get all my creatures up to high levels like really high levels as soon as I can. I'm walking through that path before the tunnel after the first stadium, and while my initial manamon is quite advanced now at level 20, I've still got a couple that are only at level five. I'm learning so much though. This requires skill and patience.
Oof. I managed to soft lock #DaveTheDiver in the second boss fight. 🙃 That's a bit annoying as it went really well. But even more annoying is I had some ingredients with me, I really needed. 😅
I also noticed the Mastodon instance you're using. As a big Cyberpunk/SciFi nerd myself, I'm looking to migrate to an instance that aligns more with those themes.
Could you tell me a bit more about your instance? The website seems LGBTQIA+ focused, so I was wondering if that's the primary theme, or if it's simply to show Acceptance. Don't get me wrong I fully support LGBTQIA+ rights, but I'm hoping to find a community that centers more on cyberpunk and SciFi
@73CC Cyberpunk is definitely the main theme here. LGBTQIA+ is "just" a natural part of this.
Be your own self is pretty much everything Cyberpunk wants for individuals. We're extremely against hate against others and have pretty much no tolerance for attacking anyone based on their gender, origin or religion (although religion isn't really a thing here, naturally).
But I'm just one of the Mods on our awesome team. If you want to know anything about this instance in detail you can ask the one an only @revengeday or the collective mod account @lucy, where everyone from the mod team can answer your questions. 😊
@jake4480 What do you think are the most interesting innovations for medieval dungeon crawlers recently? Lots of loot options? Level generation and strategizing around it? Something else?
This week we're diving into the very earliest years of fighting games with the original - and far more obscure compared to its storied sequel - Street Fighter!
I also basically never participate in game jams, but the "Fuck Capitalism Jam" is an exception to the rule :).
The underground game manifesto was released as an entry there, and I'll surely contribute something this year as well. Also, I found various great underground games on the last incarnation (many of them interactive fictions), and will surely keep my eyes open this year as well!
Played a lot of Kirby Triple Deluxe. It's a very strong entry with some very varied leveldesign, neat little puzzles and challenging bossfights. Collectibles can be well hidden, so I missed a couple. That makes returning to the game later on more interesting though.
I'm not a completionist by any measure, but giving me a good reason to revisit a stage is always a good thing in my book.
I'll probably finish this one for my 30 days of 3DS challenge!
@jake4480@weebdeluxe I never really played the SNES or GBA games. Should at least hook up my SNES mini to play some of those. They still look awesome though.
It's funny how Kirby games are for the most part very easy (a bit too easy at times) but when you reach the final boss or if there's post game content the difficulty spikes!
@Htbaa@weebdeluxe 🤣 they are awesome and that is TRUE - deceptively simple at first and then that SPIKE! I forgot 64 too, that sword in that one, can't get enough. And the MUSIC 🤯
One great plus of the 30 days of 3DS challenge has been that I get to know so many more awesome people here! It's a lot of fun to talk and discuss with you all!
As I was doing a little more digging around for discussions of note-taking and games, I found a forum that was still online, and one of the posters mentioning they'd written on their blog about their habit of note-taking in games.
Despite the thread only being 13 years old, I expected the link to be dead. To my pleasant surprise?
Also in case anyone else happens upon this thread somewhen down the line, I've found where the person writing RVGFanatic is still around!
They've since switched their blogging over to Wordpress, which is a mild bummer (none of that classic web style, sadly), but cool to see they're still active!
