Quarter Up is a free online newsletter published by Nantucket E-Books. I tend to look for articles in one of three areas:
Articles on the history of a particular game or company.
Interviews with someone in the business.
Commentary on the places where life and pinball/arcades intersect.
I mostly game using my Switch, but I do own two PC games on Steam (Firewatch and Transistor). My issue is that I absolutely hate playing with keyboard/mouse. Is it possible to get a controller that connects to PC and works with Steam? #Gaming
@greene You can connect your Nintendo controllers via bluetooth using Steam! I personally LOVE the Steam Controller, but that's not widely available anymore and can take some getting used to. I love mouse and keyboard for games that need precision, but sometimes you do want to sit back, or the game doesn't need to be as precise. It's a great medium!
But, you'll probably stick with your Switch stuff :D It's all ready for you to pair!
The first thing I notice in every Switch game is the framerate...I hope the next Nintendo console stays 1080p and focuses on a consistent 60. ...or 30...
@repeatro sorry, I should elaborate. I love that the game let's you fail forward. In fact, there are situations where it's advantageous to fail a roll. 🤯
And the story is amazing. The side quests are great, but also the slow buildup of the case and what happened to the PC.
Disco Elysium is truly one of the best games I ever played. 🥰
@repeatro it is an awful lot to read, but it's entirely worth it. I actually don't think that it took too long to get me hooked. Maybe 0.5-1h?

Speaking of #Fallout4
I am looking at "Tips for best starting stats" and so so so many sites treat Charisma as a dumping stat... when it is vital for making money in the game. If you do not have enough Charisma to make trading routes you are going to suffer badly both economically and just because you have to carry scrap around instead of having it teleported between your settlements.
I'm glad anyone but just EA gets a shot at Star Wars. Ubisoft games are derivative as heck, but they're also often quite fun when they first start out with a new IP. Maybe there's a chance they made something worthwhile.
It may seem simple, but if taking notes during play, the stop and start of it seems distracting, and it's not really viable with many online games.
So I'd guess for those writing about their experiences with games it's probably primarily reflective with few notes from during play depending on the games involved?
Went to my friends today and the plan was to play something on their PS5, but we used four Dual Senses to play Mario Party 3 on my phone instead. Delta is really a game changer! Just hooked up my phone in the TV using an Lightning to HDMI and we had one of funniest nights of the year.
@EighthLayer A lot of names are German-based and the same goes with Cuntz - I can't even remember whether I had the same suggested name and simply did not register it at all. 😅
