Just a reminder that the whole point of federated social media shouldn't be that you need to be on #Mastodon, AND #Bluesky, AND #Threads, AND whatever other platform
Though I appreciate both the offer and the suggestion, I'm not moving instances. Since we cannot transfer past toots to a new instance, and I intend to someday simply be on my own instance, for now I'm staying where I am. But yeah, otherwise that's really an accurate suggestion.
Hello #Mastodon! My name is Thomas and I am trying Mastodon again. I'm a graduate student finishing up a Master of Arts in Education. Meanwhile, I like acting.
@crmsnbleyd hm, no going back, posts are left under the old name, are those the only notable issues then? I remember hearing people complaining but they were server-> server and it was quite a while ago
primarily I want to share one id/account. we don't need separate private messaging here. when people try to do that, it should be a matrix conversation. etc.
This is the reason #Mastodon social blocked me from the server and this social media site is doomed if it has this level of reading comprehension. I once again, would not recommend a mastodon migration to anyone who asks.
LA Legault @LALegault Younger generations will only remember the Holocaust as the excuse that was used to commit the Palestinian genocide and it is a disservice to everyone who fought to prevent both. Apr 24, 2024 at 13:28 • 0•177•*8
Mastodon and @Gargron becoming a zionist mouth piece like every other social media site has absolutely ruined it and I am so disappointed in the promise of a better social media— #mastodon has joined its silicon valley Israel applogists with a new board and everything to show for their hard work. Best of luck. What a waste of time here.
@spla Ah okay, thanks! I do admit I tend to read between the lines. “advising and supporting the team on key strategic issues” seems enough to influence release cycles
Let's take an in-depth look at Kharkiv, Ukraine; from its founding to its current struggle against the Putin regime, trying to bomb to oblivion its 1,400,000 residents!
@sima78@sima78 bonjour c'est déjà fait pourquoi est-ce que tu ne crée pas ta propre instance pour héberger ton compte si jamais tu penses que tu auras des problèmes avec
Needed some time to get used to it but I really like @MonaApp 's approach to discovery. A single tab gets you to a certain instance where you then can switch between all its feeds on a second layer. Thus the tree icon. 🌳💚
The only thing I am missing is seeing the hashtag results of the chosen instance. Right now choosing a trending hashtag from a remote instance shows me the hashtag feed of my home instance. Which always leads to the same results.
@MonaApp I can see different hashtags for each instance too. Only, once I open a hashtag, I see the hashtag feed of my own instance (nahe.social), not the one of the remote instance.
