Started a new MagicaCSG modeling project…

You'll probably be able to guess what / who this is going to be. 🙂

More work-in-progress updates will follow in this thread.

At the end of 2020, I created this cover illustration for a recapitulating publication of the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science.

Despite the negative events, the illustration needed a positive vibe. Hence the convivial snowglobe.

Created in Blender and rendered with Octane Render.

Low-polygon style 3D illustration for my 2014 holiday greetings card, made in Blender 3D.

The picture is a wink to my one-man company logo, which you can see in the top right corner.

From the ar(t)chive…

Voxel-style 3D illustration for a 2005 issue of a Dutch magazine, about the attraction of working for large corporations.

There were no voxel editors yet in 2005, and I guess Shell was still a relatively attractive employer. 😏

From the ar(t)chive…

Isometric voxel-style 3D illustration for a 2005 issue of a Dutch magazine, about finding your way around a big city.

There were no voxel editors yet in 2005, so I made this in 3ds Max at the time.

Ooh, nice…!

The creators of the Womp online SDF 3D editor are about to introduce an AI-aided way of converting polygonal meshes to SDF primitives.

Say I wanted to do (for ), which software should I go for? Maker, selling some stuff. Parametric is a must.

I use which is great but getting pricier ($300/year). My subscription is up for renewal and I’m on the fence. I don’t know if I want to get into because I don’t trust Autodesk (free for <$1000 profit, $680/year otherwise).

Oddly enough, has a maker version now ($48/year for <$2000 profit, a bajillion otherwise).

Anything else?

Started a new modeling project…

Those who are as old… I mean… as experienced as I am, might already recognize what this is going to be. 🙂

More updates will follow.

Donatello from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. 🐢

Modeled and rendered in MagicaCSG, slightly post-processed in PhotoScape X and Affinity Photo.

Made a little video, showing some elements that make up my TMNT Donatello.

I'm often making use of the Groove Blend option in MagicaCSG, which allows you to extrude an area using the intersection with another object.

If you like to see more explanatory videos, I'll be happy to make them and answer questions. You can appreciate it with a coffee:
