I've made a point of not watching Question Time this evening.
When you have two Tories, Nigel Farage, and Piers Moron, there isn't much point.
However, Fiona Bruce addressed the fact that Farage's appearance raised a lot of complaints over the fact he isn't even standing, and asked why he was fronting Reform's campaign?
Farage said "Don't ask me. You're the ones who invited me on".
At which point Bruce said, "We actually asked for Lee Anderson, but he wouldn't come on."
Keir Starmer has issued his sic pledges to the country.
The approach - if not the actual list of promises - is similar to Tony Blair's tactics, with his "Pledge Card" pre-1997 election which brought a Labour landslide.
People were widely confident that with #blair and #labour itcwas true that "things can only get better"
With #Starmer's version of labour, there is no confidence that any thing will change much for better - not least because he, and especially #reeves keep telling us everything they wont do
"Things can only get bitter"
#Neoliberalism#ThirdWay#Neoliberals#Politics#Clinton#Blair: "The reason I think the distinction between calling someone a neoliberal versus talking about neoliberalized politics is important is because I think if we want to explain it, if we understand why it happened, then we can’t just substitute a label for the complexity of the actual politics underlying it, including the complexity of the perspectives of the people we’re talking about.
In other words, I think it’s perfectly fair to call Reagan and Thatcher neoliberal politicians for good historical reasons. But I don’t think that the same rationale holds for figures like Blair and Clinton. And to me, if we want to understand this historically in a way that might help us move things forward, then we need to address the explanatory question. We need to acknowledge the differences and we need to understand this disjuncture between what leading figures associated with the Third Way said about themselves and what they actually did. We need to understand how it made sense to them, in other words, that they could say — as far as I or anyone else as an outsider knows, with sincerity — that you could be a social democrat or a Labour politician, or Clinton would kind of move in between calling himself “liberal” and “progressive,” and also adopt pro-market policies that clearly didn’t work in the interest of many of their traditional constituencies. Even if they said they did, and still understand themselves to be doing something consistent, coherent."
Your periodic reminder that #Blair and his minions were raging psychopaths too.
"A detention camp on the Isle of Mull and breaking international law were among measures on migration presented to #TonyBlair while prime minister, according to newly released files.
"Papers from 2003, released by the #NationalArchives, show Mr Blair was increasingly frustrated by the failure to deter people from coming to the UK.
"#Starmer, despite later attempts to deny it, clearly told an interviewer on LBC that Israel has the right to withhold power and water from #Gaza. #Sarwar considers it a breach of international law to do so. Which #Labour Party would #Scotland be voting for in the General Election? Come on ... you know the answer to that one" – Richard Walker
Well #blair was a Barrister too... but I think politics requires a different form of rhetorical skill
It also requires a flexibility of mind - especially within the #labour party where like it or not the members & activists are well to the left of what most of those whose votes you need sit...
Remember Sanna #Marin, former Prime Minister of Finland? One of who's noticeable achievements was getting #Finland into #NATO. She's landed a job at the Tony #Blair Institute for Global Change.
Of course she has.
The Finnish people lose their neutral status and get automatically dragged into a war if one breaks out between the US and Russia, and as a result likely destroyed.
She get's a job at a war mongering "think" tank that promotes US hegemony for her service.
I always wanted to do Blair (I mean draw her) she's very attractive and I love how she was designed! I finally did it! I've made 2 versions!

They voted for something that plenty told them was a stupid idea. They were warned by NO but they fell for the lies. Now it has turned out EXACTLY as the remain campaign said it would.
You have regret and want closer relationships with the #EU. How about 'No'! This is what you voted for. You won get over it. Deal with it!
As #GB politics becomes more like #NI politics. (thanks to #Brexit)
You have seen the abundance of flags due to insecurity, the introduction of #voterid which we have had for quite sometime on this side of the #IrishSeaBorder & the introduction of the concept of 'themuns' Now you finally get to the stage of #TacticalVoting
Many of us in #NI have been voting this way for years - not who we want but who will get the other lot out!
