I practice #magick and have done my three levels of #Reiki too. I see myself mostly involved in that aspect of things, but I feel I'm kind of just wandering around without a group of people, and I'm looking for company and community.
I'm also sort of involved in my local #CUUPS chapter at my local #UU#church
and I'm looking forward to meeting others on here and learning more!
Finally heading back home today. It's been a long week in Columbus OH, and I'm anxious to get back. #Columbus seems nice from what I've seen, which admittedly isn't much. I've spent pretty much all of my time either at work or at the hotel or somewhere between. I like the weather here more than the furnace of #Phoenix. My coworkers all seem to disagree with me on that one. Seems people from Phoenix don't appreciate colder weather. Who knew? I'm excited to see my kids not on a computer monitor.
On today, #IndigenousPeoplesDay, a regular reminder that Christopher Columbus was a slaver who perpetuated genocide and believed the earth was shaped like a giant pear or woman's breast, and mismanaged basically anything he touched.
#Columbus could be a great city for #biking—as could much of the #Midwest. But it will take a fundamental rethink of our #infrastructure and public space. Check out my latest video sharing a vision of the future featuring @stevie of #TransitColumbus!
Historians estimate there were about 10 million indigenous people when Europe first made contact with North America. They are still here. About 10 million people in North America are considered to have indigenous ancestry. There are over 500 tribes. People of indigenous descent are treated horribly. They are the targets of racism and discrimination.
Please do as this ancient commercial says and reconsider your views about Columbus Day.
In a way you have to admire Christopher #Columbus. He managed to annoy Queen Isabella enough she was absolutely ready to give him money for an expedition she knew was an absolute fools' errand.
She was absolutely ready to lose three ships and all sailors just so this damn Genoan would go away.
And then he comes back having run into a completely different continent on the way there and sells it as a success.
New Complete Streets policy under discussion in Columbus
The Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission (MORPC) is planning a Complete Streets policy to set a vision and requirements for all new road projects and repairs.
This writer graded the policy 43 out of 100, which sounds bad unless you know that the Ohio average is 36.
