Trump is on the campaign trail in Michigan, ranting about how dangerous and useless electric cars are.
Meanwhile, Toyota (the ones who have somewhat slept through the market for pure electric cars) announces two new solid state batteries. Apparently, they have now made the decisive breakthrough and see themselves able to build a battery that has more than 1,000 km range and can be charged in 10 minutes.
Just got back from a shopping center in El Rio/Oxnard and it seemed like there were Teslas everywhere. While my wife shopped, I checked out the #EV#Chargers. There were a lot of Tesla chargers and they were quite busy. I only found four non Tesla chargers spread around the area I was in and three of those were charging Teslas (using adapters?). The only non Tesla I found charging was a Polestar on a charger for handicapped people. I’m not a Tesla fan and I hope the competition gets more serious. #ElectricCars#ElectricCar
So, after going on a lovely holiday, then deciding it wasn't working, @pyoor's Kia Niro EV decided to pretend it was working in front of the Dealership... but...
Since the #wildfires in #Greece, & now #Maui#Tenerife, #Canada, #France, a lot of the 'normal' #advertising feels completely dystopian. I keep being served #ads from Jet2 to go to Greece, the very company that fucked up the repatriation of its tourists. Now from #Brazil, the shameless use of #AI on #elisregina & her daugher, music & longing for family, to sell... #cars. Yeah you say, #electriccar, still the same lobbies, the same unsustainable push to consumption. 📴
We drove #electriccar to Paris recently and back, via Dieppe - no worries.
Last December I drove to Berlin and back. Again, each drive took about 10 hours with couple of stops - no problems.
Stop believing nonsense in the media. It's a moaning of either corrupt people or let's just say - less gifted in the upstairs apartment - who think their privilidges is just a norm. #climate#ElectricVehicles#climateaction
We just subscribed to an electric car for a year. Hiking for the past week and a half was so effortless with the car we rented, and I especially can take some more opportunities for exercise.
I’m not the biggest fan of cars, but the infrastructure here is not super conductive to a life without one, especially when not everyone is comfortable with bikes esp. on streets.
So 360 days of a tryout and also with the hope that infra improves.
@yatil which provider did you use? We're at #Like2Drive but will switch to #LynkAndCo later this year because infrastructure for #ElectricCar is very bad in Germany...
