Mich frustriert es wirklich nicht (mehr), dass das Fediverse offenbar bisher nur eine überschaubare Minderheit der Gesellschaft anspricht. Damit kann ich sehr gut leben.
Was mich aber doch etwas wurmt, ist die Realität, dass es hier meiner Beobachtung nach nur wenige junge aktive Menschen gibt. Weshalb finden #Jugendliche z.B. TickTock oder Instagram ansprechend, kommunizieren dort mit ihren peer groups, während die ganze interoperable Breite und Vielfalt des #Fediverse (#Pixelfed, #Friendica, #Peertube, #Mastodon…)) für junge Leute offenbar komplett uninteressant zu sein scheint?

@ᴚ uɐᗡ It does support alt-text, technically speaking. It just doesn't have Mastodon's easy-peasy alt-text entry field. And I think if you want to have alt-text on Friendica, you must not handle images the Mastodon way by uploading them to a post draft as file attachments, but you must upload them to your file storage and then embed them, blog-style.
Once you have the image embedding code in your post draft, you must manually graft the alt-text into that code. I'd walk you through it step by step if I could, but I don't know how exactly the code in Friendica looks like.
I can tell you what it looks like and how it works on Hubzilla, though, and since Hubzilla is Friendica's descendant, it should be similar, only that Friendica probably still uses [url=][/url] and [img=][/img] instead of [zrl=][/zrl] and [zmg=][/zmg].
So when you embed an image into a post on Hubzilla, the code looks like this: [zrl=URL of image viewing page in your file storage][zmg=WidthxHeight]URL of Image file[/zmg][/zrl]
The first thing you do is cut the image file URL and paste it over the image size in the [zmg=] tag. The image size is usually quite unnecessary, and it degrades the quality of the image.

On Hubzilla, this works absolutely well. I've done it myself countless times already.
I think Friendica works largely the same, only that it uses [url=][/url] instead of [zrl=][/zrl] and [img=][/img] instead of [zmg=][/zmg].

Well, that process is geared towards what Friendica actually is. And Friendica is neither a Twitter-style micro-blogging project nor inspired by Mastodon. It's almost 6 years older than Mastodon, designed as a Facebook alternative and meant to be perfectly capable of long-form macro-blogging.

Not every fediverse user want to connect to Bluesky but for those that do, you can look into using Friendica. The next release will allow you to use your Bluesky account from within Friendica. Interact with Mastodon / Msskey / Pixelfed etc and Bluesky users together on one platform

Es kann nur über den dezidierten gebrauch von hashTags, in diesem Falle z.B. #foodporn und Filtern funktionieren. Aber dem verweigern sich die meisten Neuankömlinge. Und da die eigentlich eh nicht hier sein wollen sondern hier sein "müssen" den die anderen Seiten haben sich ja unmöglich gemacht, sind sie noch weniger bereit sich die zur Verfügung stehenden Werkzeuge zu eigen zu machen. Statt dessen transformieren sie Eigenverantwortung in Anschuldigungen für unverantwortliches Verhalten anderer.
Die Einzige Option ist dementsprechend Föderation, damit sich auseinander dividieren kann was nicht zusammen gehört.
Wahrscheinlich ist der mastodon CEO daran Schuld weil er aus "content wrapper" (abstract) "content warning" gemacht hat und sich auch dezidiert weigert dies abzuändern. Ein Differenzierung zwischen Bild bluring und content collaps sollte es auf jeden Fall geben. Sprich CW kann Bilder bluren, muss aber nicht und umgekehrt. Auf masto ist blur ohne CW möglich aber nicht umgekehrt.
I guess this topic has been covered 1000 times before, but I can't seem to find a way to "search and find" the older threads on this forum. So I apologise for returning to a familiar topic.
I installed #friendica on my home micro-server on #Yunohost and after an upgrade it worked perfectly for a few weeks, but lately it has started to frequently show the "504 Gateway Time-out" error page and I wonder if this could be due to some configuration of my node or some other reason.
As a background, at the moment, the server has only one active user, with almost 2.000 contacts.

Eine kurze Frage, gibt es irgendwo eine Einstellung mit der man die Höher von Tiktok Videos festlegen kann? Es macht doch recht wenig Sinn wenn diese in der Höhe, höher als der Stream/Timeline sind und deshalb nicht komplett dargestellt werden.
Nachdem #Friendica im letzten Release sogenannte "Channels" eingeführt hat, mit dem man selber seine eigene #Timeline nach eigenen Bedürfnissen bzw. Themen zusammenstellen kann, kommt mit dem nächsten Release ein weiteres cooles Feature: Ein Relay-Konto bzw. Relay-User.
Mit diesem Kontotyp ist es möglich, auf Basis der eben erwähnten Channels einen öffentlichen User zu erstellen, der mithilfe von Hashtags, Volltextsuche o. ä. nach Beiträgen mit den festgelegten Suchbegriffen sucht. Die gefundenen Beiträge werden dann an die User geteilt, die dieses Relay-Konto bei sich als Kontakt hinzugefügt haben. Ich finde das deswegen so genial, weil dadurch die Timeline von #neuhier Usern oder auch die von #Singleuser Instanzen besser, schneller mit Themen gefüllt werden können, die einen interessieren.
Um dies zu testen, habe ich vier solcher themenbezogenen Relay-User erstellt (Linux & Open Source, Datenschutz & IT Sicherheit, Selfhosting & Homeserver, Fußball). Danach habe ich bei einem User der keinerlei Kontakte hat und keine Hashtags gespeichert hat, diese vier Relay-User hinzugefügt. Die Timeline dieses "leeren" Users wurde in kurzer Zeit mit den vier Themen gefüllt. Ich finde das echt genial und könnte für die neuen in der #Fediverse oder eben auch für die erwähnten Singleuser Instanzen eine große Hilfe sein eine lebendige Timeline zu bekommen. Und das Ganze ohne einen vorgeschriebenen, dummen #Algorithmus.
