I was pleasantly surprised to find that Zotero had no problem automatically creating a bibliographic record for Google's new Gemini paper, despite that the paper has … 942 authors.
Albanian Plan to Use AI to Align Laws With EU Questioned
Rama says his government will work with Chat GPT to align Albanian laws with the EU and so cut translation and lawyers' costs – but some experts say it's not that simple.
Just a reminder: the very first research paper describing what we now know as GPT is only about 6 years old. The first model was released in 2018! And remember when GPT-2 was withheld from the public for security concerns... in 2019? ChatGPT is only one year old. One!
Do you realize how quickly this is going? It makes my head spin!
There's a series on YouTube about training GPT to play Starcraft II. I’m familiar with the game and how the top games play at tournaments and so I was curious about how game replay packs from tournaments could be used to train the model to implement all of the actions a player must do in a game in response to their opponent. But it appears it is very basic and does not actually do anything that uses replay packs to determine the build orders, tactics or various strategies used during the early, mid and late game stages. It is a good example that just because you are using GPT it does not mean you are creating an intelligent system. This may be early days for this project, but it appears so far it has only implemented basic pre-defined sequences instead of an AI which is able to react to in-game situations. #Starcraft2#GPT#AI https://youtu.be/DsJEmmB1qU0?si=kshyvaT9K2I2v1Hg
My latest bit of work building My own #AI Assistant with #GPT, I now have HAL doing search queries from Wolfram Alpha and Wikipedia pages, prioritizing and citing that data in its responses rather than relying solely on its model data.
On the #enshitification of #academic#publishing. Where scientists burn the candle at both ends, paying to read and publish their work, in what is the ultimate grift.
Built on https://greg.technology/ cool "Sagittarius" demo, I quickly hacked together a Gemini-esque Waste Sorting Hat tool that works way better than expected... and its funny and has a real purpose (help kids figure out what to do with their trash at school). Here's my kid trying it out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-9Ya5rLj64Q#openai#gemini#gpt
