When you eat large #nuts or almonds and/or cashews, how many do you eat at a time?
When I recently had to open fresh cashews myself, I only ate maybe 5, whereas I sometimes easily eat 20 from the store box (and then often have the impression that I ate too many). 😝️
My guess: nature is perfect. In other words, when we eat nuts naturally, we eat more slowly, have more work to open them and eat less overall.

"Cepicky...endorsed by...Marsha Blackburn...warned, 'there is no law, deeming...this head of lettuce is a head of lettuce. The head of lettuce right next week could contain a vaccine... if it does have the vaccine in it, make sure it’s listed as a pharmaceutical so people can get the proper dosage.”
Collected a bunch of sweet #chestnuts yesterday afternoon from a fave secret harvesting spot. They're all nicely cleaned now. Roasting them this weekend.
The more commonly found horse chestnuts on the island here are toxic to humans & better used for natural arts & crafts. Only the sweet chestnuts are edible for humans.

Cracking a few macadamia nuts. Our tree is either the sole survivor or one of the children of Jay and Eula Kuhns' 1939 farm, which was one of the first places mac nuts were planted on Kaua'i. (The PDF linked below says the orchard was a total loss after Hurricane Dot, but satellite photos from the 60s suggest otherwise.)
More doom.... Over 1 million satellites (frankly, just think of any big number!) could be headed to Earth orbit, according to recent filings in the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) database.
Excerpt from Space.com:
"Rwanda's 337,320-satellite constellation, Cinnamon-937, is the single largest mega constellation on the books.
"Records show nations worldwide have proposed launching over a million satellites distributed across 300 "mega constellations."
"(...) many of the proposed satellites may never be launched due to funding problems, changes in political support or engineering or technology issues, researchers say. Nevertheless, the evidence of overfiling is a dire warning that humanity is creating safety and sustainability challenges to use the seemingly unlimited orbital space. "
Here is just a small sample of the the nuts I'm currently harvesting. These are Kentish cobnuts - a kind of elongated hazelnut, rather like a filbert. They can be eaten 'green' or stored for later use.
Raw hazelnuts are 5% water, 61% fat, 17% carbohydrate, and 15% protein. They are a rich source of nutrients, and were very popular with hunter-gatherers in Mesolithic times.
If it's a bad year for squirrels, it's a good year for nuts...
