Tiffie doesn't really do heights, but today after 3+ years of watching her sister frequently sit on that shelf, she's suddenly decided to conquer her personal Everest. :blobcatcool: 🤘
I really, really, really want a dog… but I doubt my 17 year old cat would appreciate it.
I also worry about my ability to care for one due to my occasional increased mobility restrictions (cane/wheelchair use).
I could use the emotional support. I could use the project of caring for a dog again. I miss it so much. I just don’t know if my body will allow me. Bummer.
Sometimes people with children look down on people who talk about their fur babies as if those #pets aren't nearly as much work as human children.
After just a few years, those human children will be able to clean up after themselves, do the dishes, take out the trash, etc.
At no point will the pets carry their own weight: not even close. If anything, it makes sense to have children so they can eventually take care of the pets.

It’s Norma, and she’s started trimming my nails for me. She patiently moves along from finger to finger. She has learned what hurts and what doesn’t hurt. And she listens for me to say ‘careful’ and she backs up. Pretty amazing little creature! And she takes such good care of me! I’m pretty darned lucky! #pets#pet#birds#bird
