I stopped to visit with my brother at the volunteer fire station today and discovered they have bike rack with tools (including an actual JIS #2 screwdriver!) available all year long.
Moin,
we all need a cool duck on the handlebars, don't we ?

Helsinki commuting report:
At 8:00, -6°C with at least 12cm of fresh snow. After digging the bike out we even made it in perfect time to school, thanks to a few essential bike path stretches being ploughed. Just got stuck on one uphill car road and had to use the sidewalk there. Maintained paths make a massive difference. If the snow falls on a smooth, mantained surface it is rideable for a while until the ploughs get there.
You all knew I would do it right? I did have to walk long sections. Some of it was the snow but more often than not it was stuck cars or slow walking pedestrians getting in my way. I feel the city council needs to make a law that slow moving vehicles and pedestrians should move out of the way for us fast moving unicyclists!
Went for a bike ride today. It's -40C outside... It wasn't comfortable, but I survived. I was bundled up very well. My cell phone crashed due to the freezing cold and refused to power on. Since bringing it inside, it's alive now. I'm gunna name my old cell phone Trooper, just because.
While I may be able to survive out there, electronics struggle very hard. I'm gunna stop bringing my phone out in the -40 and below mark from now on. My odometer on the other hand, must suffer.
Fellas, is that a #bicycle, with a ten year old cell phone mounted to it such that it can take video of bike rides using #FreeSoftware, with wifi capabilities such that it can upload directly to #Peertube??
@Mrfunkedude Great question. I went out for a test ride. The good news is the ride was very smooth, no road shakes. The bad news is that I keep steering the handlebars back and forth to compensate for the snow. It gets better once I get going, but it's distracting and isn't smooth at all.
We'll have to see how it pans out in spring/summer.
