Some #FirstNations used the #elderberry#wood to make musical instruments, like flutes, clappers & small whistles & smoking implements. The soft wood was used as a spindle twirling stick to make fire by friction.

Brass cast little sculpture of a wood cube showing tunnels carved by a woodworm. Of course the tree was already firewood when I found it, I only cut it into a rough cube. And the woodworm was long gone: Wherever you are, I hope you're OK, it was nice making this collab with you.
The light and dark of spring.
Suddenly there are flowers everywhere in the woods, new blossoms to attract the pollinators but some like up hide in the shadows - maybe a little shy at how pretty they are.
