Forgive me saying so, but that's a rather sad attempt at accessibility. Alt-text is the gold standard. But simply saying what colours the information is backgrounded with is not useful for viewers with low vision resources.
Please consider using the alt-text feature to describe your images properly, or use the hashtag #AltText4Me to ask someone else if they can pick up the slack. To properly describe, enter the text on the image, and describe it visually only as much as needed to convey the useful information.
I've added alt text in attached images. FYI, I just used the browser tool that detects text and then did I a cursory proofread. So there could be errors!

#AltText4Me#Alt4Me I have a disability that affects my hands and I'm in high pain right now. So I was only able to get in a few of the carob names in the map above.
If you have to spoons and knowledge to transcribe, I can add them for more equitable alt text.
Also providing Alt Text is not being “passive-aggressive” (especially accompanied by the #Alt4U or #AltText4U hashtag). It’s a good faith attempt to make it EASIER for you to just copy-paste that text if you want. People with #ADHD for example, often forget or find the task too difficult, and that’s a way to remove another barrier for those of us who struggle with that mental task.
If you want to request that someone else volunteer Alt Text, just ask and/or you can use the #AltText4Me hashtag.
@JohnLoader6 I know you probably don't mean it this way, but your argument implies if an image is too hard to describe, we shouldn't be expected to put in the work to assist disabled people. 😭
Perfect is the enemy of the good.
Just do your best. No one is expecting you to describe in minute detail; just give the general overview so ppl can understand the context of why an image was included.
If you really need help, you can request someone assist you by using the hashtag #Alt4Me or #AltText4Me.
In the category of "Best mural in the world 2023" is "Martín Pescador," a work done on the facade of the building of the gym of IES Luis de Morales de Arroyo de la Luz in May last year by the placentino artist Jesús Mateos "Brea" #Art #AltText4Me
Mathematics has many daughters. Nearly all are beautiful. Physics & Chemistry are dutiful & visit home often. Life science is always away on some exotic research trip, hardly has time to write. Three of the girls live at home: Statistics, Computer Science ... & The Other One.
Statistics spent some time in a sanitarium, no one talks about it. She's doing better now, dotes on mother. Computer Science puts on a suit each day for her Big Important Job. But she still never moved out. 1/ #ideas
Here is a photo of me taken in front of #Milan cathedral that I've ask LLaVA to describe for me. to my sighted friends, I'll appreciate you giving feedback on its accuracy.
Description:
The image features a man wearing a pink shirt standing in front of a large, ornate building with a blue sky in the background. The building appears to be a cathedral, as it has a tall structure and a prominent clock tower. The man is holding a camera, possibly taking a picture of the impressive building.
There are several other people in the scene, some of them closer to the foreground and others further in the background. They seem to be enjoying their time near the cathedral, possibly admiring its architecture or taking photos as well.
for those who need #image descriptions or #AltText for photos, here is a model that pretty much does it. It is called #LLaVA. I will post a sample image with a description on my next post and let you sighted friends comment on it. 😁
It's Disability Pride Month, and we're two homeless disabled autistic trans people with chronic pain and cPTSD with two cats that need help staying inside and surviving (food, meds, etc).
also sharing our flier that was made for us to help. #Alt4Me#AltText4Me i tried my best with the description, but improvements appreciated for accessibility.
