An intriguing idea – using old recordings and a Novation Circuit to create an EP - fuels Mental Clutter. The two available tracks show that the idea might be limited but the possibilities sure aren’t. “Wake Up Pollinators” chops up a guitar into a loopy, delirious lofi workout, while “and “A Simple Celebration” is a bright, chipper synth track that channels “Baba O’Riley.”
Moody instrumental electronica steeped in interesting timbres is the order of the day. “Monument” open on a buzzy drone like bees and guitar had a baby before blooming into a pleasant mix of slow, muted breaks, moody synth and understated melody. “Differential” features a sinuous synth melody all thru the track. “Around the Next” slips into #synthwave, like John Carpenter tuned to modern sensibilities.
So many tabs open with new music to listen to today. I may have bitten off more than I can chew, but I will try to get through all of it #overwhelmed#BandcampFriday
I love Caravan Palace. It's nice to have the option to get their new album from Bandcamp. It is a shame it took them a while. But I love me some #electroswing
It is Bandcamp Friday again! Be sure to support your favorite artist today and pick up some of their music on Bandcamp if you have the means. If you want to grab something from me today, I have a new happy hardcore single I made with my friend REIA.
For #BandcampFriday today I finally released my dreamy dnb album Spaceship Submarine.
It's 5 euros and it would mean a lot to me if you bought it. I've been without my usual paying work for a couple of months and my progress in saving so I can move to my own place and move on with my life has backslid.
I somehow seem to have pulled together a 14-track album during the last few months and as it's #BandCampFriday if you buy it today, I'll get 100% of the dosh. The album's an eclectic mix of tunes, under the title "Genre Fluid"
Good morning, afternoon, night, whatever works for you! It's #BandcampFriday and it's time for me to start a way-too-long thread about #music I produce and music I enjoy!
First up, we have my own album from last year, 51 Miles from Nowhere. This album involves some of the best musicians I've ever worked with. It's filled with raw energy, moody lyrics, and fuzzy guitar.
If you buy the LP, it comes with a copy of the Guidebook to Nowhere (a zine I made set within the fictional Deathrayverse filled with cryptids, an evil corporation, and general creepy vibes).
51 Miles from Nowhere is one of my favorite pieces I've ever released, and I hope you listen to it. My favorite reviews are "I'm not sure I like it" and "It's interesting." (there are also positive reviews, these are just my favorite).
Keeping the #BandcampFriday thread alive, we have my dear friend, Connor Dylan. He plays keys with my backing band, The Implements of Destruction, but he's an absolutely phenomenal artist and songwriter as well. We're back to politically leaning music, this time a bit more psychedelic. I love the heavy samples used in "Bush" in particular.
I also got to mix this EP, and it's really something I'm glad I got to work on. The vibes are immaculate, the political stance is far, far left, and the hooks are catchy as all get out.
OH YEAH! One last #BandcampFriday plug. @ajroach42 and I put together a Public Domain project for this year! It released on Public Domain Day, and features music that entered in the Public Domain this year or earlier. I did some fresh recordings for it, featuring a medley I made of several songs, and Andrew curated a wonderful selection of original recordings. Highly recommend. It's been one of our most popular musical ventures this year.
