Argh I've been up all night stressing about if our basement was going to flood. (Knock on wood, nothing so far). Hope you all spared.

Just added this song to "jazz", "metal" and "heavy shit" playlists, because it certainly is all three somehow-- it goes back and forth. What a SONG.

Candiria are so wild.

Carley Coma (their singer) is an incredible rapper, too. Got to see them several times, luckily. Legendary.

"Today, they again tried to breach the front door with angle grinders and after a few moments they gave up and moved on to grind the lock off the bulkhead hatch to the basement. In the forty-year lineage of New York squatters, they were met with piss jugs emptied on them from the window. They gave up trying to force entry.

As I’m writing this friends from the local info-shop are laughing and talking around a grill and folding tables of food and drinks. Yesterday, squatters from a neighboring city played cards on the sidewalk before quickly linking arms to defend the doors from arriving goons. Old friends and squatmates have reconnected on the barricades and new connections have formed between comrades across subcultures and generations."

Day 11 of the . . I know everyone who's been to has taken this photo at some point, so why should I be any different? I love that I pulled it off. The Chrysler Building framed under the Bridge is just such an iconic look.

‼️🚨 hey so libraries across NYC are rapidly unspooling.

because of recent budget cuts, they’ve been forced to reduce:

• their stock of digital books
• the number of materials you can put on hold or have out on loan
• their hours of operation
• scheduled repairs & maintenance
• staff

it’s only a matter of time before these cutbacks cascade into elimination of physical materials and closures, leading to the undoing of the library system in NYC.

i implore you to start discussing how to preserve the institutions you have near you and their materials and take steps to make it happen.

“Breathtaking Brooklyn Bridge night panorama”

The view from the Brooklyn Heights Promenade after sunset is amazing, I couldn't resist making a long exposure panorama of Lower Manhattan, the Brooklyn Bridge and the Manhattan Bridge. You can also see the Statue of Liberty in the left side, and the colorful top of the…

Anyone interested in buying a Mergenthaler Linotype Company (Brooklyn) specimen book? (I have an extra!) The book is in pretty good shape with some of the red binding worn and some water staining on the bottom of pages. But the inside is in lovely shape and very easy on the eyes. Hardcover, prob from the 1930s. Ships from Canada 🇨🇦 -- I would love to see it in good hands.

I’ve been working at the Jay-Z exhibition at the Brooklyn Public Library for the past 4 months. More than 600,000 people have attended the free exhibition. We’re now in the final week of the exhibition and, as expected, attendance has increased greatly in these last days. I’ve been surprised by all the celebrities who have attended recently. Just in the past few days, I helped do private tours for Kevin Durant (who is crazy tall), Devin Booker, and Travis Scott.

A fancy lil of the (mis) information arrow beer sign I made over the summer. This will be at View Arts Center in Old Forge NY starting December 2nd through March in the Northern Lights Exhibition.

The animating blacklight tubes blink like a rocket shooting. take aim :)

I have a few other "beer" sign ideas. I like the murdered out, theme, but other colors are nice.

A neon "beer" sign in the shape of an arrow with black glass that flashes red with neon. The sign flashes between dis, mis and mal information

Stooping is quite the phenomenon in NYC. You can find real treasures out in the wild of the city streets. Stooping is when someone throws out an item and leaves it on the street or stoop for someone else to pick up before it goes to the trash.

I’ve been wanting a large fake plant for my apartment (which doesn’t get a lot of natural light) for ages. I was delighted to find this one discarded on the street in Park Slope. It’s in perfect shape and looks real. A+ stooping!

after a turbulent two months of weekly visits to hospitals and EDs, my partner and i finally started feeling that we might get a break, but sometime at the hospital after her last surgery or the other hospital for my monthly visit to get pumped w chemo / immunos., we were infected with COVID.

it takes a lot for me to share personal aspects of my life anymore and even more to reach out for support, but we could both really use some TLC and a respite from the storm!

any support is welcomed and deeply appreciated 🖤 solidarity!
