they have shown a tremendous amount of disrespect and falsehood, eventually even daring to publicly attack me with false accusations, only to limit my acc on stop.voring.me to the home timeline without further note > when this happened some months ago, i was laughing because it felt like kindergarten edition of fedi drama
what is worse: back then, t1c threw overboard the principle not to federate with government-run instances, and t1c declared zero interest in the rise of fascism in germany, thereby giving leeway to apologetic posts on their instance calckey.social (now firefish.social)
when i started donating, i felt both happy and proud to support a small fediverse project which had managed to attract contributors and creators from all over the world > when i learned that t1c would occasionally face problems receiving donations in currencies other than usd, i ensured to donate in usd btw
i have felt for quite some time that the calckey/firefish community is not the right place for me, and i am saddened by the direction which the calckey/firefish project has taken #fediverse#calckey#firefish
@privateger hatte mal Genaueres rausgefunden
I couldn't update the Calckey instance. I kept getting all sorts of errors so I decided to just rebuild the server and attach the database to it, pray that it was compatible, and here we are. Long day.
Thanks @kainoa for creating this fantastic software!
Am considering setting up an instance for North UK.
This will probably be a #Firefish (formerly #Calckey ) because it is just so cool. Can still read and respond to Mastodon messages as well as folk on other Fediverse systems.
Trying to gauge how much interest there might be.
Could everyone give this a boost to reach as many as possible.
#Firefish, née #Calckey, has issues, unfortunately. Most times I try to use my account now on firefish.social there is something that goes wrong, or is too slow to be useable. Like right now. Refreshing the home timeline produces just internal errors.
Wondering if with the transition from #CalcKey to #FireFish, the backend to restore posts from a #Pleroma / #Akkoma backup is finally working. (Last time I tried, the system got stuck hard) @thatonecalculator@kainoa
"Your server’s administrators are responsible for moderation and for keeping your local community safe, and of course as a user you get tools to block/mute or report anyone possibly harassing you. But the Fediverse is in general a much safer and friendlier space than most mainstream social media, because moderation is handled by real people caring about their communities, instead of bots or overworked employees."
I detect a great disturbance in the force - wait, no that's just #firefish.
Not sure what's happening there, but I assume the big flurry of follows from there is a #Calckey instance firing up, or clearing a backlog or something?
Edit: Yes - confirmed it's a rebranding in progress.
